Kent Johnson scored a pair of goals including the OT-winner and added a helper as the Columbus Blue Jackets pulled out a 6-5 win after blowing a five-goal lead to Auston Matthews and the Toronto Maple Leafs .
Sammy couldn't stop a beach ball if he tried the whole team came thro but him. First shot on him in O.T. he dropped down leaving the top wide open & goal.
Decent grit by the Leafs to claw back for a point. The OT win would have been pretty sweet and a real confidence booster, but still, entertaining game and nice job by the Blue Jackets to hold on for the W.
I can’t believe how bad modern NHL defenses are now. You have a 2 on 3, 2 guys on puck carrier and he still gets the pass to a wide open Marner because the the 3rd player backs off. Absolutely ridiculous.
Imagine you are AT THE GAME and you just decide to leave after the second … get home…open the tv and see ur team 5-3 with 2 m inutes to go and they tie it , i would be mad at myself xD
Funny because it happened to them against the blues back in 2000 or 2001. They were up on the blues and they lost. Good rally but why so many ot games?
I mean…they made chicken salad out of chicken s*** to get a point, but Sammy's head just isn't in the game. His body language has been terrible, and the body language of the guys around him on the ice hasn't been good in a long time. I think that he needs a change of scenery to clear his head. The pressure of playing in TO might be a bit much for him.
From 5-0 on, the puck started sticking on the tape. They had Colombus runnin' but in the Playoffs, if they can control the puck like that while getting hacked and speared, they will be hard to beat, in the first two rounds at least.

Even though we lost, the leafs have been unreal with the comebacks this year so far. If only we could be the ones holding the large lead.
