  1. When they picked up Robinson for basically nothing I thought Buffalo finally got a fighter. Nope, but he's been ok.

This team has been soft for a long time. Losing and knocking the other team around would be acceptable. When Greenway stood up to Wilson was a game changer.

Getting a couple tough guys would be helpful. Embarrassing to see liberties taken with Dahlin and Benson. Hoping the team gets sold and moved. Waste of time watching them.

  2. I think the problem might be Granato's staff. His assistants' coaching resumes are really weak and those are the guys teaching technique

  3. This starts with owners and everything beneath. This is getting brutal to say the very least. Mid December bouncing the bottom again and again. I was pretty much done with Don end of last year. This system sucks

  4. Granato is a smart guy and he's been good with the young guys. But I'm an older fan and I like the North American style of play. I don't like skilled and soft teams and for me, I don't care what the current "style" of play is today. Hockey is an effort and aggressive game and by aggression I don't necessarily mean fighting. I mean compete, skill and physical play every night. That's Buffalo Sabres hockey.

  5. I think buffalo is brainwashed. The proof is in the pudding, the coaching is the problem with this team.
Granato is a terrible coach. Lundquist said it last night on TNT. He said they are not in a rebuild but they play like they're in a rebuild. He also said it's it's not a skill issue It's a work issue.

  6. Donny and Adams will stay forever keeping the team forever young and have hockey bags full of excuses. It took forever for Kruger it will never happen with Donny.

  7. I'd like to see Adams make a couple decent moves. They need some guys who know what it feels like to win. They can't just have a bunch of young guys with 2 or 3 veterans who have never won anything. I'd like to see them get a coach who knows what it is to win consistently as well. No more building with youth. It's reached its limit. Trade away a couple guys.

  8. This team has strung together back to back wins only once this season. They're far better at stringing together losing streaks…which they've done 3x. 1×2, 1×3, …and 1×4 losses. The rest of the time it's win a game and lose a game. Awful team with no heart.

  9. I watched the entire shit show. Game was over after the first again. My only thought was hopefully we look like the AVS once we mature as a group. Just like they did.

  10. HCDG needs new assistant coaches. Like a Paul Coffey with the Oilers. Coffey has helped that defense big time. 8 wins a row with the structural adjustments.

  11. His brothers cancer batlle im sure weights heavy on his spirits. And overall focus and with day 2 day duties. I wouldn't be surprised if at some point he takes a leave of absence.

  12. I have a new strategy: if they win, i watch the replay. If not, I pass.
That way I can subconsciously feed my illusion that they’re decent. Otherwise I’m just p*ssed the rest of the night.
But I dont think losing Granato is the answer. Coaches get fired too quickly in every sport these days. They need time to build a team. If you hire one, i think you need to stick with him for at least 3 years. Think of the most successful franchises across all sports – they all have consistency in leadership.
The Steelers have had only 3 head coaches since 1969.

  13. Hold up a second, they very much should have taken the lead in the second period… if they keep playing like that, they're going to be more than fine. This team is basically the same record wise as last year too at this point, they really just need to not have a mid season and a late season slump like last year, but I think they're on the verge of going on a run.

That second period last night looked like they've been playing the last two weeks, they just need to start finding the finish. This definitely looks like a much better team in December, they're coming around big time and people need to chill a bit and let it work, because they're looking a crap ton better.

Like firing the coaching staff because they looked like they didn't have their legs in the first period playing in Denver in the elevation, when they then turned the entire ship around in the 2nd and should have scored multiple goals in that period, which finishing has been an issue, but goals come in bunches.

I've watched basically every game other than maybe two or three so far this year…people, take a deep breath, that game against I think it was the Bruins or whatever top team they beat recently was when the shift really started.

Or maybe they should still trade UPL for a bag of chips?

  14. Also, that Benson goal was one of the more impressive goals I've ever seen…like his first goal was super flashy, but that goal last night was I have to imagine at least as impressive and skillful…the positioning, awareness, speed of his hands, no wasted motion and the shot placement…he initiated a bunch of turnovers by the Avs also…he's only 18, how did the league let him fall so far in the draft?!

  15. No excuse for this teams loss but not for nothing… Colorado's 1st goal should have absolutely been disallowed after Nathan McKinnon ran right into Clifton & another sabres defenseman while
    he didn't have the puck

  16. Granatos system has been exposed and he has not the ability to react on the fly, he does not have enough tools in his shed. We need a new coach not a new gm, just the coach.
