  1. NJ would have lost this game 5-1 a few weeks ago. Good on them for staying disciplined. Still a lot of things that need to come together but definitely better than falling apart.

  2. as a habs fan i cannot complain. year 2 of the rebuild and we have a .500 team while missing dach for the season. they do need more rookies like struble who can take over a spot on the roster ans thrive with it. many here complained that Xhekaj should not have been sent down to the AHL but Struble is looking very good at this moment. our offensive players should start scoring tho, it's becoming a problem. Slafkovsky is looking better and better each game but he doesn't produce at all.

  3. Hello Puckheads!
    MTL plucky with a long SO and WPG? WOW!
    @cnsmith0719 and @curlyred83 topped us going 4-0-1! 2-2-1 for me – oh well 😊
    @predyperdy6787 ‘s 246-168-32 maintains the lead while I sit at 231-183-32 !

  4. Massive bump of appreciation for Simon Holmstrom with his FOURTH shortie of the season!

    Horvat has continued to impress me, and he’s definitely getting a better legacy than someone like Trevor Linden did on the isles. Barzal also looks absolutely on fire.

  5. Isles are 9-2-1 in their last twelve. I don't care how they get it done. They were losing these games earlier this year plus Pelech AND Pulock are out.

  6. There's two ways to interpret the isles run tonight. Either a good team knows how to come back and win when the puck isn't bouncing their way. Or a bad team that can't close out a win without making it hard for themselves. I'm not sure which is right

  7. If Winnipeg plays Vancouver in the playoffs, it would be one of two scenarios.
    Either the Jets stay red hot for a lot longer than anyone expected to start the season, win the Central, and face a wild card Canucks team.
    OR Colorado / Dallas win the division, LOSE to Vancouver in the first round, and meet the Jets (who would have to beat the other Colorado / Dallas in the first round).
    It would be far more likely than Vancouver coming out over LA, Vegas, or Edmonton.
    Those 3 Central teams, those 4 Pacific teams and I guess Arizona, maybe, would be my playoff teams in the West.
    Which kills me, because I'm a Minnesota fan and I see Nashville doing some good things.

  8. Other than a home to home series with the Coyotes and the Jets on Saturday, the Avs have a very easy schedule for the rest of December. I expect them to win 6 out of 8 games. Let's see if they can continue beating teams that they are supposed to beat

  9. Was at the game and they totally outplayed the Ducks with three fluke goals, one off a defenseman's skate, one off a deflection off a defenseman's stick and one rebound off a shattered stick. And all without Pelech, Pulock and Mayfield while the PP comes through late.

  10. Two Canadian teams in the conference final guarantees a Canadian team in the finals 🙃That would be good for hockey. from someone south of the border….lol

  11. All I'll say is, when your roster relies on just Frank Vatrano to get all the goals, predictably you can't score

  12. As a Jets fan, I dream of what this team could do with a non-anemic power play. If they could get that to around 22-25%, they would have to be not just overachievers but contenders.

  13. Islanders are very patient with their young players. It shows with Holmstrom, who is emerging as a valuable player. Or a player like Aho, who it seems took forever, but has become a regular NHL player, which it once seemed he'd never be. Bolduc is another guy, though I guess he's getting more playing time now because of the team's injury situation on the blue line. I wonder if the patience will ever pay off with Wahlstrom. It's been a while since he was drafted and right now it looks like he'll just fall to the side like Kieffer Bellows, but maybe one day he finally breaks out.

  14. The Avs tribute to EJ was very well-done and emotional. He may retire with Buffalo but his home will always be in Colorado.

  15. Kings blew 2 2-goal leads in the past 3 games. Not a good sign. I know Gavrikov got hurt but the rest of the team needs to step up.

  16. Another NedWALLkovic masterclass! The Pens would be dangerous of the offense wasn't consistently underwhelming because our tendies have been fantastic this year.

  17. I went to high school with Alex Laferriere! So happy that he’s accomplished his dream. Super great to see. 🎉

  18. Interesting enough, this was the Jets first multi-goal comeback win against a current playoff team since beating the Preds back in March 2022. Usually, they get down by multiple goals, especially against good teams, the game is over. Hopefully, this pays dividends going forward and lets them know that they are never out of a game, even when trailing 2-0 or 3-0.
