  1. finally after 48 yrs so excited for the canucks top notch management & players have baught in Fans and media need patience for player slumps How often do you see other magagement doing media questions threwout season ?

  2. I think Rutherford would be the first to tell you that you got to give something to get something so if a young, potential top 4 D somehow becomes available Kuzmenko or another offensive player could get traded. We are talking about "Trader Jim" here and scoring will not dry up without one of the scoring wingers.

  3. Jim didn’t deserve the lashing that he got last year. He’s clearly just an honest, upfront guy and the truth can hurt sometimes. What he’s done with this team has been magnificent.

  4. I think Kuzmenko has similar hands as Brock and just needs a little more time to adjust. I hope they don't give up on him. They wanted to trade Hoglander and I think of Jared McCann. Goals are at a premium and Kuz starts to play like he can he could be between a 25 to 40 goal scorer. If Brock can change and adapt so can Kuzmenko. I had listened to someone who had said he is slow. He has to learn to get rid of bad habits. I don't think he is that slow. And he truly wants to stay and be a Canuck.

  5. As much as I'm not a fan of Aquilini's moves and involvement over the years, hiring Rutherford has proven to be integral to where this team is at this season. Let's hope the team continues to trend in a positive direction and we can watch fun and entertaining hockey for many years to come.

  6. I'm a fan of Rutherford. The guy KNOWS how to build a winning team…hopefully he sticks around a few more years. The man is in his 70s and still working and doesn't need the money.

  7. Kuzmenko just like boeser needs a little time cant just give up on him when hes on a little slump.

Ive been real happy with how jim and alvin have traded, draft and signed players and coaches to make this team a contender. Cleaning up bennings mess will take time.

  8. Important to understand Jim’s answer to the Kuzmenko question
“Eventually he’ll get his confidence back”…
“We work with these guys and have good coaching”
To me those are words of the future with him. They’re willing to work with him to get his game back

  9. 9:10 Yeah, I agree. Kuzmenko was already playing in a top professional league. It's up to him and the coaching staff to keep communication channels open in any way possible (it should help that he has some countrymen in the room). I don't want to tell the guy "told ya Bali was a bad idea" and maybe it's irrelevant, but I do hope last night's goal brought some fire back into his game. He needs to park himself by the net on the powerplay. That's his office. Everything else should come back to him..

  10. I like to hear that they won't rush to sign bottom of the line up guys to too much money and term because of a hot start. Competent management is refreshing

  11. The sophomore jinx happens in hockey, especially when a the player had a big first year. Kuzmenko will get over this and when he goes on a streak it will probably be a doozy. He needs to regain confidence. The only way to do that is keep your head down, work hard as you possibly can then let the chips fall where they may.

  12. I can't help but notice how great the front office has become at communicating. From Rutherford down to the Tocchet, it really seems like they're an open book. It's a refreshing change from the cagey headgames of past execs and coaches.

  13. Other than the way Bruce was let go, objectively, Rutherford and Allvin have steadied this ship and have steered it in the right direction. I still think it is missing a couple key pieces to be a true contender, but I can really appreciate Rutherford's approach in developing young prospects and helping them realize their potentials. The way Boeser and Hoglander have come into their form this year gives me a glimmer of hope that the same will happen to Podkolzin and Kuzmenko too… and maybe guys like Wilander, EP 2.0, Hirose, McWard and Woo can also develop into solid NHL blue liners…

  14. What I see in this team is our defense is still lacking but Jim's hands are still tied with a couple bad contacts left over from Benning. I can see this team being back at 2010/2011 levels by next year.

  15. Adding some role players to bottom six improving the depth and potential NHLers pushing upward on the farm cannot be overlooked. Well done.

  16. Building a champion will take time and he has definitely done it a few times. We are lucky to have him on the Canucks.

  17. I was one who was happy when he was hired, but I turned with the Bruce there he is/n't and then when Toc came in and change/results wasn't instant. So, I take my hat off to Jim, his team, the coaches and players and even Aqui-Man who has let them do their thing. Go Canucks!

  18. Kings have 3 games in hand so Canucks won't even be second in their division once LA bangs off a couple more wins. Yeah the dialog was good with Ethan Bear too until you 1. non tendered him and 2. lowballed him. I hope Jimbo lowballs Gazoo because the dude can't shoot the puck due to his chronic wrist injuring, at this rate Pettey is going to need a Chris Pronger operation to make one arm shorter than the other to get Pettey right.
