UNIONDALE, NY — Linus Ullmark discusses making the “save of the year” during the Bruins 5-4 shootout win over the New York Islanders.
Down 2-0 the Bruins gave up a shorthanded 2-on-1 but Ullmark wouldn not allow the Bruins to go down further. He went side-to-side to rob Jean-Gabriel Pageau’s one-timer and then recovered to make a ridiculous left toe save on the rebound attempt from Simon Holmstrom.
“Yeah, I might have to do a hip surgery … no, a hip transplant,” said Ullmark after the game.
The Bruins overcame 2-0, 3-2 and 4-3 deficits. Boston tied the game late in the third on a Mason Lohrei goal and after a scoreless OT David Pastrnak buried the shootout winner to cap off a wild 5-4 victory.

Says the team sux. Waaay too many turnovers. Wait till Rangers later today, Bruins will lose by 4 plus goals again . Cant compete vs legit cup teams

No doubt the Rangers will be a tough test for the Bruins, but last night was a gutsy win. Look at the lineup they had against a good Islanders team. Yes they had turnovers, but they found a way to win being down multiple times. They were missing their best d- man, and their top center. Good road win, go B’s!
