Not studnicka
It's a Dman
STUDnicka is his name. Bruh
Good pickup for both teams. In the big scheme of things it doesn't mean much for either team, depth for both teams. Studnicka played well for what was expected of him for us. By the way man, I love what you say, how you speak, etc. Showing the video game while you speak drives me nuts, so much so I often turn the videos off. Please for the love of everything good in BC, makes vids like this or you speaking, kill the video games.
is he really a stud?
Nobody’s watching
At least we got a 6 round picked good win Hockey Trade minors Deals we can used the 6 round picked maybe for a Defenseman we got enough players doing the same roll as stud
is Vancouver looking to move one of the defensemen? have need of defense in AHL?
it isn't obvious, but his name is pronounced very differently. He is Turkish, so it sounds more like "chi-check" depending on how the Turkish spelling is. You can google "cicek turkish pronounciation" to find a video.
He is on a two way deal, so this seems more like a way to get rid of Studnika's one way deal and free up some cap space by putting Cicek in the AHL.
What I find most intriguing about his deal is he's 23 years old, so far from his prime, and he's a big guy who could take Myres' spot for next year if he shows he's ready with limited time this year. And we give up on a decent forward who's not really fitting in here due to lack of space in our roster to get him into many games and play many minutes.
We will probably see a few minor trades before the NHL trade freeze. The NHL's annual holiday trade freeze begins at 11:59 p.m. ET on Dec. 19 and ends at 12:01 a.m. on Dec. 28.
Maybe Brisebois ain't coming back
I bet Cicek is bumping with joy right now
nice to see the gm moving people / assets around.
At least Studnicka had Stud in his name.
From the Sharks side of things, this trade happened because Sturm, Couture, and Carpenter are all on IR so they needed an extra center. With Bordeleau seeming to swap over to playing the wing because he wasn't defensively responsible enough to be a center they didn't really have anybody else close to ready to be called up to fill in at the NHL level. Cicek (pronounced "chee-check") was passed on the depth charts partly because he wasn't playing as well but largely because the Sharks have picked up several defensive prospects over the last year or so (Henry Thrun, college defenseman who wasn't going to sign an ELC with the Ducks, Shakir Mukhamadullin and Nikita Okhotiuk who we picked up in the Timo Meier trade).
Eh whatever. Who cares really. Just don't trade Kuz for anything less than a 40 goal a season forward. His lack of production is why Petey's numbers aren't far and away leading the league. He hasn't had a great start to the season, but that 39 goal scorer is still in there. Hope he picks it up.
Would have thought a basic search into pronounciation would have helped, since you're already going heavy into analysis…
