Reviewing the Canucks vs Wild Matinee Game

These teams play well defensively when they cross paths. They both got excellent games from their goalies as well.

  1. This was the type of game I expected. Thought VAN was going to take it in the latter portions of the game.

  2. That was probably the best game that the Canucks lost. They tried their best. 0 for 5 on the powerplay but Canucks really had chances. But Gustavvson was perfect. And no major turnover by Myers or anyone. So it was a great game played.

  3. That was a really tough game to watch. Both teams really didn't look all that interested at points during this game. But at least Vancouver got a point, and the team gets Demko in the net tomorrow.

  4. I’m starting to get concerned about the Canucks. Yes they are winning games but that really doesn’t matter to me. Their top two lines aren’t scoring at the pace we know they can, Petterson looks off, the Power Play has become an absolute joke going at about 10% over the last 10 games or so. If you have 5 power plays against a team like Minnesota you have to score at least once. This was easily winnable and they just couldn’t produce.

  5. I never cared for afternoon games, either as a player or fan, good practice & performance for DeSmith. But a point is consolation.

  6. It felt like the Canucks did some heavy partying last night and went for a morning skate, with an opposing team and referees. Both teams were trying to win the ugliest road game possible.

  7. I'm an idiot for picking Kaprizov early in my fantasy draft. Also, OT is just boring af these days. They should've just gone straight to the shootout, good lord.

  8. Not bad. They got a point out of the Minnesota Wild Stars. 😂 That colour scheme is definitely North Stars. And the game was very reminiscent of early Minnesota Wild games, minus Marian Gaborik. The Canucks matched that.

  9. Why do we even have matinee games? Kids can go to early timeslot games but clearly neither team wanted to play in this game. And Van has another tomorrow. Ridiculous

  10. Rough game to watch the boys looked tired out there. Glad we still got the point though DeSmith was great.

  11. Kinda felt like i was back in 2009 wiyh this one the dead puck era this game was boring lol also the canucks powerplay was dogshit other wise it was a goalie showdown gotta love those both sides played amazing i understand why they would play a modest game with another morning game tom morning gotta keep the boys fresh

  12. Hey Shannon! I remember you saying in one of your past videos about all these gambling commercials in hockey now I’m with you I Fn’ hate them too. Anyways was watching some NFL today it’s even worse in football they’re even betting on if a guy catches a pass gains over and under so many yards and blah blah blah and so on. Yup! It’s getting really bad in a nice way of saying it.

  13. Canucks go 1 for 5 on the PP, they win this game 🙄. Oh well, got a point and regulation loses stay in the single digits 🤷‍♂️

  14. I'm impressed the canucks stayed in this defensive one despite obviously not being on their game. They sure help the goaltenders much more effectively with their size on defense, being able to box out and clear the crease.

  15. the powerplay is so brutal at times. Some games its good, some games its not even bad but atrocious

  16. The Canucks should go back more often to the 90s skate jersey. One of my all time favorite jerseys. Coming from a NYR fan.

  17. Looking at this one on the app, I could tell it was a hell of a snoozer. The fact it went to shootout is kind of the cherry on top lmao.

  18. Since hymes has taken over
Here are some stats from the 7-2 Wild
The penalty kill is 87-5 percent which is huge since they were last in the league,
And with: Vancouver having a high outpoint power play that says a lot
Second Gus the Bus has a 950 save percentage and a 1,25 goals allowed
When Brodin spergon come back from injury the WILDS defense will once again be elite,
Brock Faber is the best defenseman
Since Cal Makar and leads all rookies
In this year's class according to the athletic, I expect the wild to fight for first place now

  19. The amount of resets vs actually opportunities in ot must have been 20-1. Worst overtime I've seen.
