Shannon I disagree with you on a number of things. Wright is not a fast skater and isn’t that offensively creative. Also he does not look more dominant than Laffreniere during his junior career. Laffraniere was seen as the next Matthews/Mackinnon. So I doubt Shane Wright has more hype. Laffreniere has been a massive flop for what its worth. And Jack Hughes would of pushed for 90 points in a full season, while being one of the more dynamic skaters in the league. I don’t see Wright as an elite ppg player. What are you seeing?
Impossible, Montreal will not choose Wright. Wright was considered a potential generational player until Covid, he missed a year, i think he can still become one, i won't rule him out because his last season wasn't up to expectation, he was on par or better than McDavid production wise until Covid, not saying he will be a McDavid, he won't be as spectacular, but a player doesn't have to be spectacular to accumulate goals and assists, he can become a highly productive player, with the skills he's got.

Montreal center line was decimated last year losing Danault and Kotkatniemi. Dvorak delivers the performance of a 3rd line center. Las time they had a high pick, they selected by their needs instead of scout ranking (KK instead of Tkachuk). Now their needs and scout ranking direct to Wright. I do think Slafkovsky will become a hell of a player… 6'3 220lbs at barely 18.

His D2 year numbers were the same as other elite prospects D2 year everyone is forgetting that this is only his 2nd OHL year and not his third but people are expecting 3rd year numbers which is not fair. I think he’s exactly on pace to be an elite talent like he has been projected as.

There are some silent sleepers that scouts aren't noticing for some odd reason. They are better than Wright Slaf etc. Idk why people aren't talking about Logan Morrison (6ft C) or Lucas Edmonds (5'11 RW) who plays on the same team as wright. Both have more ppg and points than Wright and NO ONE is talking about them. I have no idea why but, if someone can get them in the second or 3rd round they would be a steal. Mark my words.
I dont understand why people are saying that Slafkavsky is going first overall. I mean his is good, but for me that was no doubt that Wright is going first especially when the habs won the lottery:)
How is Shane Wright seen as having a higher ceiling than Jack Hughes? and you're pretty sure that it's higher than Laf? So you're saying even Lafreniere is seen as having a higher ceiling than Hughes? nobody says those things because they're not even close to being true 😂 Jack Hughes will be a top 5 player in the league in 5 years. The others will be good, but Hughes is on another level and its pretty obvious if you watched this year…

Imagine picking Wright, but Cooley becomes a HOFer. That is what happened with Wickenheiser.
