39 was a reach but I think kuzy can still be a good 20-30 goal scorer once he is out of this slump and I think trading him his a bad idea in the long run
Sounds like another Cam Neely situation. Cam was younger and I doubt Kuzmenko scores 50, but this would be a move I could see any Canucks management group making. Bury a sniper on the 4th line because he’s not a gritty forechecker and then get someone’s damaged goods in a trade. That’s the Canucks way. We have no idea what he’s capable of, but we know what he’s done. They gave him what should have been a good deal for themselves and then shot themselves in the foot with it. If Tocchet thinks Kuzmenko is a 4th line player and Lafferty is a long term solution in the top 6, I don’t know what he’s thinking. It’s worked okay short term, but so did Matt Cooke at one time on the top line. But Cooke wasn’t a top 6 forward and neither is Lafferty. If those are the line combinations that Tocchet thinks will get them into the playoffs and past the first round, good luck to him. Just because Lafferty is a hardworking grinder doesn’t make him a top 6 forward.
Don’t trade him
I think kuzzy will turn out okay for van if we do trade we will regret it in the long run
