  1. It's a major because he has time to ease up on the hit or steer away from it but he instead loads up and launches into the hit. You can claim that it was unavoidable if you so choose but you can't claim he made any attempt moderate the contact. The toe pick had very little to do with it. It was going to be boarding either way. Don't base it on all the other recent calls that they got wrong!
If he makes any attempt to let up there he gets 2 mins.

  2. if you think its an awful call youre a fucking idiot and need to stop watching the game. dude had plenty of time to avoid the hit and just didnt. its as easy as that. malinski falling literally doesnt matter.

  3. So dude toe picks, loses balance just as macdonald is finishing his check. There is no intent here, just unfortunate timing. 5 and a game is a bit much.

  4. Just use the WNHL rules already ffs. I know you are headed that way anyway. Just do it. Way to ruin another sport. yay to the Q for banning fighting next season!!!!! What a bunch of heroes!!!!! W8 till the game dies, God I hope it does. BTW I want the 10's of 1000's I spent over 6 decades on this sport now that it is so pussy soccer is almost tougher.

  5. Idk what's more laughable, Malinski tripping himself up when no one touched him or the Avs consulting an 8 year old to explain the situation 🤣

  6. Totally agree with the game misconduct as long as they league would call all of them and suspend players for dirty plays but it seems like they pick and choose who's allowed and who's not

  7. This is analogous to a road accident where one driver, realizing there's about to be an accident, ends up stopping in the middle of the + intersection with an oncoming driver about to choose one side, the other, to miss them and they collide T-bone, instead of a glancing blow. Macdonald was gonna elbow to "close" off that spot when he saw Sam go(ing) down, but Sam paused, and injured himself and stopped, and took more of a hit. Too, too early to be "setting the tone" like that, refs..

  8. A major? I'm not even positive this was a penalty lol. Guarantee if it was reversed and it was an Av's player hitting a sharks player it's a no call 😆

  9. That is less of a mjaor compared to the hit against Gudbranson a few days ago. It's still the right call imo, but it shows how awfully bad the decision a few days ago was.

  10. Horrible call! Well, the refs making the call I can understand, but keeping the call after being able to review it is horrible. You can see Malinski loses an edge just as he goes into the boards. That causes his head to drop lower, which in turn causes MacDonald's elbow and shoulder to graze Malinski in the head. Malinski doesn't lose his edge, this is a nothing hit that grazes across Malinki's shoulder. Also at 2:26, the commentator to says, "but this…that's a dirty play". NO WAY MacDonald could have meant to do that, or avoided it since Malinski's head dropped from his losing an edge at the last second.

  11. Players getting dumber by the day or what? With all the questionable hits going on lately why not forearm shiver a guy who already boarded himself. 🤦🏽

  12. Around the 42 second mark..Did this announcer just say this as a joke or something? I like mcdermaids game but uhm?
