Seems like a lot of people haven’t caught on to how much we’ve turned it around lately. I expect to see some inconsistent performances like we have seen but overall the team seems to be getting some real chemistry and everyone is adjusting well to Bruno hockey. My hope is that this season is good and the next two are great

Fil being insane, Juuse being the Vezina candidate we know he can be, and all the young folks being able to shine without Hynes… it’s so much fun to watch and the victory fish have been as delicious as ever.

The things that stand out to me so far are the team is smart, balanced, and plays hard.

They don’t have a HoF, marquee forward so they were going to have to build a balanced team. I don’t think this is bad. I think overall, this is a better way. Other good teams can nut up and limit one guy or one line when it counts and then you got nothing whereas four good lines are hard to stop.

It doesn’t matter who scores a goal. When all four lines are contributing, it can come from anywhere.

There are nights when the McCarron/Smith/Tomasino line has played lights out. Even if they haven’t lit up the scoreboard, they drive so much possession and zone time it carries over to others. Sissons/Trenin and their third guy have been even better.

If you play a game and two of your lines are outplaying the other team, you are probably in pretty good shape.

The PK also got a lot better when Bruno started playing McCarron as a fourth grinder in the line-up. I think Bruno has found his mix. He’s still using Nyquist and ROR, but they play less on the PK when you have Smith and McCarron in there, too. If McCarron and Smith help on the PK and have unlocked Tomasino, that is a total win.

There is no one guy that is putting up crazy numbers that might be an outlier. The closest are Nyquist and Sissons. Nyquist’s numbers are affected by Forsberg and Sissons has ten goals but some of that is from playing on PP1.

If anything, the younger guys will probably score more. To me, Evangelista and Tomasino are close to really kicking it up a level. They are getting good chances but just need to find out how to finish.

They also “fixed” some d-men by letting them get away from the goal and use their physical attributes to be aggressive.

The team needs to stay healthy and keep the effort up and they will continue to be a good team.

IMO, the team has put themselves in the best possible position to get their young players in a position to learn winning hockey.

And by almost 1st we mean 4th in the Central, 7th in the West, and 13th in the league.

Still a fantastic run by the Preds who are looking like a legit threat.

Nobody is taking notice of what we’ve done so far which is fine. Go preds!
