Regular season games are almost meaningless. Just $$ profit for the franchises. The NHL teams are so even now that long as you make the playoffs, even as a wild card, you have a legitimate shot at the Stanley Cup. As long as the team “hits their stride” around March or April, you can get deep in the playoffs.
