Pretty much from 2:30 until 8/9 minutes they talk canes.
Literally word for word he says “they would do anything on any goalie if it makes sense for them.”
Friedman says the status of Anderson is unknown not sure if todays report reflects as he did also not mention the signing we made today but, he is under the assumption that our front office isn’t sure he’s gonna be back at all.
The goalie situation he went into a bit more detail was Merzlikins. He thinks if the jackets aren’t in it and they agree it’s time for a change he would be an option but, money needs to be worked since his cap hit is heavy.
So please everyone complaining about Don, just know that the gears are moving and they are not sitting pat. There’s a lot of teams in the market and the canes are desperate which makes negotiations that much harder.
Edit:Friedman makes it very clear multiple times later in the podcast the goalie market is the dominating conversation right now. A lot of teams are calling.
Also they make note that teams are trying to figure out what it’s going to take and what assets are they going to need to expend.
