  1. Good grief guys – don’t you remember the disgusting wickets served up at the MCG for years? As for Murilly, also remember that he came to UWA where his action was measured and then the rules on bending a straightening the arm were changed (to coincide with his measurement). And don’t forget Ian Meckiff was no balled out of test cricket for bending and straightening his arm (much less than Murilly) in an Australian test by an Australian umpire. History has its uses. When commenting on pitch conditions, don’t lose sight of the fact that Kawajha and Marsh smashed the Pakistani bowlers out of the park on the same pitch.

  2. Easy for you blokes in the eastern states to throw shade on the perth attendance, when both Sydney and Melbourne having double the population and get to host their test matches during the holidays. Coupled with a rubbish opposition and club cricket fixtures in WA on the Saturday, meaning a large chuck of the target audience cant attend, its easy to see why the numbers for the test match were underwhelming.

  3. The "X-Factor" for the GOAT is that he's bloody awesome and works for his mates! He came from very humble beginnings…
He also actually out-thinks the batters. 500 wickets, mostly on Aussie pitches, is testament to his thinking skills as well as control and skill.
NOBODY has Murali as the best spinner. NOBODY. For numerous reasons…

  4. I’m pretty sure the young bloke babbling to SOD does NOT know much about preparing a test match wicket. Do yer homework fella!

  5. Off topic but seriously channel 7 is serving up a whole lotta hogwash.Way way too many commentators talking rubbish! To me they’re trying too hard to spice up a game that doesn’t need it. Give me Nasser and Athers any day over this bunch of overpaid has-beens.

  6. Disgraceful comments about Murali. Imagine sitting behind a microphone and being comfortable with dismissing a brilliant career citing a 'pub test' as your rationale. What a dullard. His action was scrutinised like no other before or since and was found to be legal. He is an ornament to the game. I agree, the comparison to Warne is interesting, but that's because of the conditions they bowled in most often, not because some mouth breather on the radio reckons he chucked it. Can someone please throw (or bowl) this bloke in the sea?

  7. No way your disrespecting murali! When u guys gonna learn to respect oppositions and there players! Theres no way any true honest cricket commentators are gonna disrespect murali hes a legend!

  8. I was born in Newcastle, lived in perth for 13 years. Don't knock the sandgropers. They are as Aussie as any other state.

  9. Simon control your heavy breathing into the microphone big fella! Horrific to listen to while Gerard is yarning

  10. Warne has the second most test wickets FACT. The caveat to that is that Warne took a lot of his wickets on pitches that spin less against historically and statistically better teams, make of that what you will.

  11. I would rather watch paint dry than watch an Australia Team where 2 confirmed CHEATS are allowed to wear the most revered symbol in Australian Sport – The Baggy Green once stood for all that was great in sport…. now it's worn by pathetic over paid, cheats !
