You all who are doubting Ovechkin not being able to pass Gretzky's goal record are not taking into account the simple fact that the Washington capitals will keep Ovi around for as long as it takes for him to pass the goal record record it would be an insult to do anything otherwise

Ovi is one of the great players and characters of the game. He is a legend and brought so much to the game. Breaking it or not is just a side show. Makes zero difference one way or the other. He's a one of a kind.

He's not quitting until he gets the record. He's either getting the record or getting kicked off the roster
JUMBLE THE LINES. The top 6 been the same all year. They’ve been shut out like 4x this season it’s ridiculous. Lot of factors involved with losing his father and Backstrom as well. Ovi also doesn’t strike me as a work in the off-season type of guy.
It's an aberration. He's a career 12.8% shooter and is on pace for nearly 300 SOG. This crazy slump will certainly dent his total this season, but I bet he gets going at some point here soon and goes on a tear.

Matthew tkachuk as 5 goals, should we say he not ganna score 30 this year? You should know ovy can score 10-15 goals in a month if the puck start bouncing a bit more for him. Hes been unlucky, less than 5% goal/shot is not sustainable for the best shooter in the past 2 decades. He will bounce back and score at least 32-35 this year, mark my words
