Gibson needs to be moved, he’s wrotting in Anaheim .I feel Ferraro would be a great fit for the buds .

They couldn't add Zadorov when he was available for a 3rd and a 5th and was begging them to trade for him. They couldn't add Ethan Bear cause Washington can outbid them.
Where are they going put the $6.4 million for Gibson??? For this and three more seasons. Especially if he ends up like Campbell or Murray or…
Call me when they have made the cap space. Then propose the trade. I don't believe this is where the Leafs interests lay. In a perfect world they ignore their deficiencies and just keep winning.

When trading for any defence man consider when all healthy this is our defence Reilly klingberg McCabe lilejgren gio Brodie bringing in any new defence man would have the be better then what the leafs have and be seen as a big upgrade or would be a fail for treliving so here are some tanev pesce hanifin parayko would all be better I personally would take any of those over any defence man except Reilly

Gibson has been mediocre the last 4 years in Anaheim. And don't give me the "but they're a bad team!" Expected goals judges a player based on the actual quality of the shots he faced. Sure, he faced more high quality shots, but he still have up more goals than the average on shots of that quality 4 years in a row. As a NJ fan I'd be suicidal if Fitz gave up a 1st and a good prospect. He is way too good of a GM for that. If they get Gibson it'll be at most. for a 2nd rounder and a mediocre prospect or two.
While Gibson would be a upgrade I would rather have yaroslov askarov from the predators. He's young and still in the ahl but he's so good has a huge ceiling of being the next Russian goalie. I think I much rather go the that route and he will be a lot cheaper
I don't see it happening. The last two Cup winners won without household names in goal. I'm pretty sure NJ is banking on that trend. When they play good team defense, the goaltending has been pretty good. Starting in game 3 vs the Rangers last year, I think Schmid was good in part because the D and the penalty kill tightened up. There were games vs Carolina where the defense was bad, and Schmid got lit up. I'm hoping they play Schmid more. He seems like the better bet, long-term, but we need to find out.
