  1. so out of distance travelled = clean play….im confused…was Evans in a vulnerable position and did mark sheifle see that…Mark knew the puck was going to go in…and he still drilled him, if evans had left the game on a stretcher would we be having these interviews???

  2. Mark has been on the receiving end of those very same hits every season of his hockey career. Every year you see him lying on the ice after a goal, creamed by someone who wasn't even attempting to play the puck.

  3. One more hit like that and ima stop watching the sport! Makes me feel sick.. but unfortunately, hits like that get so many views … And where was that dumbo during the handshake

  4. It’s all gobbledegook if he wants to stop Evans from scoring he pushes his stick into the path of the puck and no goal. It’s quite simple. He was frustrated with the way the game had gone and was going to punish someone for it. They are trying to justify this hit as ,well he had the puck and therefore was open to be hit. But he could have prevented the goal so easily so what was he doing. He was trying to hurt someone because he was frustrated, this has to be taken out of the game . They say they have to protect the players from these kind of hits, then get into a discussion about whether it was charging did he leave his feet?,it was clearly a hit to the head in the last minute of a game in which the player decided not to play the puck which would have prevented the goal. If the shoe was on the other foot and it’s a fourth liner that did that to the other team’s star player do you think he would have got four games, he’d of been suspended for the rest of the playoffs

  5. What a bucket of vomit! How complete and utterly disrespectful. At the speed he was going, he knew he could not make a legal check but he could have made a play on the puck and didn't. Watch the reply, if he extends his arm, he could have gotten his stick on the puck. Instead, he tucked and adjusted his impact angle to drive right into his head (watch his feet). You and Scheifele need to grow up and own it. I no longer wonder why they can't keep good hockey players in Winnipeg. They don't expect them to act like professionals or adults. Should rename the rink "The Playpen".

  6. I'm confused on where all this "play the puck" stuff comes from. I'm not sure I've ever heard people yelling that about puck carriers or puck releasers getting crushed. And I'm not sure where disliking a hit on a personal level becomes the Exhibit A argument if the hit is done within legal bounds.

  7. Evans is okay, turns out the full suit of body armour these guys wear is for a reason. Hockey players know both guys made a good (and necessary) hockey play.

  8. I have no idea what is wrong with the Winnipeg Jets, right from the top down .hearing this pure crap coming out of their mouths . This is why we won't get past these brain dead hits we don't need these hits in the league , im looking forward to next year to see Mark get his head punched in it was a gutless ,gutless hit . Winnipeg this will haunt you .wake up and tell your player it was a dumb hit and cost you . Your franchise is going down hill . Hopefully Mark gets knocked out and he can see how it feels you are all idots

  9. This is just another way of the NHL screwing over Winnipeg, that has been screwed by the league ever since the Jets came from the WHA, where they dominated for so many years! Taking out Scheifele just gave the series to Montreal, how many times has Scheifele been on the receiving end of those checks, without a call being made, in the Jets favour, to many times to count!!! Where was all this concern when Montreal took out John Taveres just 10 minutes into the first game of the series, there was "NONE", just another bailout for Montreal to take advantage of!!

  10. The fact that Schifeille new he couldn't stop the goal and chose to hit a defenseless player tells you it was predatory period. Forget the .8 and .2 secs.

  11. Point 2 seconds until he made contact just further proves the point that he was well within reach to stop a goal with his stick…

  12. He just wanted to get him injured and that's about it. No one needs an explaination after watching the video first time and the last.

  13. Clean hit. Nhl ruling he didnt make a play on the puck was honestly a joke. If you wanna get killed in the nhl keep your head down and go around the net. See how long you last

  14. Guys a freak he was a mad man out there . He looked pissed the whole game n he shows no remorse. He words are empty. He needs to be accountable. N he out of the league for ever him n brad Marchand there your sign .both gone simple gone .he could have freaking killed him .gone gone gone home forever him brad Marchand gone gone gone

  15. This is the problem with the NHL nowadays. Back in the day the player who hurt someone with a vicious hit like this, a sincere apology would’ve happened. In fact the guy who committed the hit would reach out to the other player and apologize face-to-face. This stuff with all the excuses is really disgusting and disheartening to hear now.

  16. As an oiler fan who is trying to be unbiased here, and make an impartial ruling on the hit, based on the players injury, and Mark's history of suspensions (or lack thereof), I'd given this hit a one game suspension.

  17. Listen to the crap pouring out this man's mouth. It was a dirty hit and he made no effort to prevent a goal evident from the trying to stop what creates a goal the PUCK this man was pissed about losing and he wanted a big hit. When is the jets organization gonna step up and admit it was bad. He got 4 games so obviously your wrong trying to prove it was a clean hit. No respect for this club at all anymore. Thank God Jake was not severely injured or even worse and all this team can do is focus on excuses!!!

  19. thanks for wasting my 4 mins besides the evans recovering part

if i were him, i won't try to defend scheifele much because it will sounds hollow just like how he did, i will simply say DoPS made their decision, maybe we don't totally agree with it, but it is how it is now

  20. Intent to injure. He meant to destroy a player who was vulnerable. In a game that was lost. Made no attempt to stop the puck. He started out low and launched himself. Winnipeg would have the same opinion if the tables were turned. He deserved a much longer suspension. What is it going to take. Something catastrophic to change people's mind. Dirty play by a clean player doesn't matter if his career is over

  21. It was a clean hard hit. Textbook. Just an unfortunate outcome (both in terms of the concussion plus it didn't even prevent the goal so it was a fail there). You can argue he should have played the puck, but it was two guys going hard in opposite directions to the post, there was going to be a hard collision, Mark braced whereas Jake made himself vulnerable and put himself in danger to sacrifice his body for the EN goal. It was a reckless play by Jake Evans, it's hockey the guy backchecking is going to check every time.

  22. Here's a video of some of the biggest hits so far these playoffs, IMO some of them are way more dirty yet none of these except the Bennet one even got a fine. (note this video doesn't show the Kadri head hit or the Reaves roughing)

    https://youtu.be/yMDmg0H8Dxo

  23. Why has no one asked " why didn't mark stick check?" He would have been far more likely to stop the goal if he went hard on the stick instead of body.

  24. The hit is a charge and because of that illegal. But it also opened up a serious issue in todays NHL which is that players don't feel the need to keep their head up any more. It's the playoffs and Evans thinks EN goals are free the way he didn't keep his guard up. 4 games isn't a slap in the face to Schiefele. It's a slap in the face to the game itself. It should have been 1 game for the charge and that's it. The hit itself was clean on impact. It's like he got 3 extra games for hitting too hard lol

  25. All I hear is blah, blah, blah. I don't think I've heard someone speak for so long and say nothing since t'Rump was President. What drivel!

  26. Top shelf lawyering there. Got his decision time down to 0.2 seconds. Even though he probably decided to steamroll the poor bastard when he hit the top of the circle and it was clear Evans was going to wrap it around. Brilliant though.
