Throw him out on the penalty kill – he was on the Florida PK and was 3rd in the league in SHP in 21-22 (1 behind Moore & Formenton, tied with Barkov, Kuznetsov, RNH, Zibanejad, Lowry).
Also, forbid him from passing. He’s a multiple-time 30 goal scorer. If he stops turning over the puck for odd-man rushes, that’s already half the battle won.
I still believe there’s a way back. We just haven’t gone radical enough yet.
This might be naive (i don’t know my hockey history) but is it possible this goes down as one of the worst contracts in the history of the NHL?

The huberdeau contract is awful and I said it since day 1. Day it was signed guaranteed another decade of shit, dudes doing this now imagine in 7 yrs

If he hasn’t been working with Adam Oates – this is his next move to invest in salvaging the direction of his career. Many players have made improvements to their game after working with Oats.

I think he needs Pelletier out there on his line. Look at what youth did for Kadri? He was awful at the beginning of the year and most of last year until Huska put Zary and Pospisil with him.
He’s also allergic to the press box, it seems.

If Huby starts playing well starting tomorrow, where does that put us? In a grindy wildcard spot against the Av’s? Unfortunately there’s more than one anchor on this team. We can’t be contenders and rebuild at the same time.
That being said, I do wish Huby can break out for the sake of his mental health and this team’s morale.
