“Diaper baby players”. Yo, this was a fucking wild read. Kind of agree.

Good lord, could this be a more sensationalized article? Jesus, you’d think Kyrou went to Bernie’s house, fucked his wife then kicked his dog.

Players are allowed to not like their coach, and fans are allowed to boo players.

A sizeable portion of this fan base thinks of themselves as some sort of blue collar joe who works at the Olin factories and know what it is like to put in a hard day of work at the mill, but in reality most of them are cubicle jockeys working out their frustrations in life on a group of kids that are barely old enough to rent a car.

  5. I think a large demographic of fans are older guys that secretly (or blatantly) despise how the league has changed over the years and is now dominated by kids that play Fornite and make exponentially more money than they ever will.

Kyrou has made his fair share of mistakes this year but I see a lot of bashing of him that is disproportionate to his performance or based almost entirely on assumptions/conjecture of what happened behind closed doors.

Bernie wrote this like he’s in the locker room every day and it’s all fact. What a fucking donkey.

I mean, here’s the issue. St. Louis fans expect every guy to be a Rich Sutter clone. Sure they never won much. But the team related to the customer base. The modern NHL is filled with man-bun yoga mat toting sushi-eating anaerobic ice hockey machines. Playing like Rich Sutter shortens the lifespan of the playing career and now and, as the NHL apparently is again going to consider expansion, there’s more money to be made by Jordan Kyrou, Inc if he can not play that way.

They should bring in Darryl Sutter to be the next head coach see how long it is before those guys are asking for trades

We need to stop fueling this fire. Armstrong has made some mistakes with the roster and Berube deserved a longer leash in my opinion.

Kyrou was paid what the market would have demanded for a player his age putting up back to back basically PPG seasons. Berube coached him hard on defense, he’s shown some improvements and despite being snake bit his overall play has looked quite good with advanced stats to support that. His pass to Buch last night a prime example.

Hockey is hard. Playing in the NHL is harder. We’re not in the locker room, on the ice, or at practice. Kyrou is young, extremely talented, and navigating a difficult situation. Fans paid for a ticket and can boo if they like, even if I disagree with it. But can we not let these rage baiting tweets and articles run someone like Kyrou out of town? He clearly wants to be here, perform well, and win games with the Blues. I’d prefer to not watch him do it for the next 8 years with someone else.

  9. People still read Bernie? He literally got booted from 101 for being too dramatic and trying to be the “no shit taking guy” but just comes off as whiney.

He’s not a winning player. Good against the other teams weaker players, plays no defence, soft as they come and cheats for offence. Bad signing I would have rather kept berube

Gotta love Danny Mac’s site publishing tough takes about accountability. Great look.

I’m only okay with the booing if the fan base will now rally behind him and support his growth. If it’s just gonna be a “shit on Kyrou” fest, then I really don’t agree with the booing of a player. Army? Yea boo him all you like. The team when they perform poorly? Yea, go for it.

For an individual player though? I hope the booing doesn’t continue, provided Kyrou learns from this and grows from it.

  13. The biggest babies here are the people booing Kyrou and the reporters that want to spin this into some generational squabble drama. This isn’t war, it’s not politics, and your livelihood isn’t at stake if Kyrou falls short of 90 points. Keep your shirts on.

  14. AlpharadiationHulk

JR left out th3le question that was asked, removing the context of Kyrou’s answer when he responded. Irresponsible of him. And as far as the boos go, you can call today’s players soft or whatever, but overall Jordan was playing better, just a little snakebit on his finishing. If you’ve ever played, you know how difficult it is to get that monkey off your back when you’re slumping. And entire arena of fans booing him is not going to help him shake the shnide.

Just a reminder: Thomas referred to Bannister as a breath of fresh air last night on live TV.

    Why isn’t everyone freaking out??

    Smh

  16. I like that comments are being downvoted on both sides of the issue here. Maybe this comment can be down voted as well, I want in.

  17. Ginga_x_Snapz

I have tried all day to understand the hate for Kyrou and I still don’t freaking get it.

  18. Jackson79339

It’s not about liking someone. Everyone stop getting it twisted. It was a matter of respect and the way it came off he was disrespecting a guy who clearly was invested in him cause ice time never dipped.

I personally am past this. I wanted one thing from Kyrou. He fucked up and he needed to own it. He did that. Literally all I wanted and I think most fans wanted. I say we move forward, let this fade, and we reunite behind the note.

Quality article by Bernie. Basically right about everything
