  1. To the flyers if you trade for Johnny Gaudreau make sure you steal him from Columbus. I don’t wanna have to pay a single pick in this year‘s draft😂

  2. This literally makes no sense from the flyers perspective. They have stated explicitly that they are a rebuilding team. Why would a rebuilding team take on one of the worst contracts in the league and potentially give up assets for it

  3. Torts don't like little guys that don't back-check. Gaudreau has no chance of going to Philly when Torts is there!

  4. Point of order: he’s on pace for his second-worst season, and is just one point off the pace to make this his third-worst season. Just being nit-picky. 😁

Second point of order: when you look at his career, it’s clear that his scoring rate drives his confidence in earning assists. Excluding his rookie season, every low season he has corresponds with a sub-10% shooting rate. His performance is not tied to “having better forwards to play with”; it’s tied to his ability to score goals when he wants to. In Columbus, he doesn’t drive the net anywhere near what he did in Calgary.

I don’t know if he’s changed his mindset on shooting, or if he’s just lost confidence in his shot, but either way, but if I was looking at trading for him, I’d want to get a handle on what’s happening in his brain right now, because not every problem can be solved with a change of scenery.

  5. All teams need to take note of how bad these long term no trade clause contracts keep ending up.

As any kind of management you need to know that a long term contract with a no trade clause is a deal breaker.
You want a no trade clause, you should expect a max 5 year contract.
