Nhl news today – Former vegas golden knights and philadelphia flyers 2nd overall pick nolan patrick had seemingly retired from pro hockey as of yesterday, but the tide quickly shifted as it was revealed that wasn’t the case. I had high hopes for the kid, and his name just dropped off for a bit, and out of nowhere this? Whatever he decides, it'll be the best decision for him. I'd like to see him make a comeback, but if that doesn't happen, any organization would be lucky to have him to help younger talent.
That’s it. NHL network needs to hire this man
I wonder if he will ever play in the nhl again tho
Worst second overall pick in 25 years.
Man, I really feel for this guy. Can you imagine being told by the hokey media that you're retired just because you decided to use your down period to coach others?
Met the kid at Cabela’s in Winnipeg a couple times really nice kid and hope the best for him
Feel sorry for him. Unfortunately since the NHL doesn't take care of the players with hits to the head. They will continue to deny CTE. Good luck to him.
Nolan Patrick revenge tour
Poor flyers, their high pick was a waste.
One of the top what ifs in the last 10 years. Shame he can’t stay healthy
I mean he isn't gonna play again… just because he hasn't filed paperwork or whatever doesn't change Patrick will unfortunately never play on NHL ice again.
Health comes first.
Patrick was never gonna be good. As a flyers fan we always get the busts
As a flyers fan it was really sad to see this news, but not surprising. I feel real bad for Nolan, he seemed like a good kid who never got a fair shot to prove himself. I HATE when people call him a bust, because that's incredibly inaccurate and unfair to him. It was clear to anyone who watched him that he easily could have ended up being a middle-six player at worst.
He need to see Cerebrospinal fluid specialist. Make sure no micro fractures in that skull
Product of shitty journalism, run a bunch of stories with zero background checking
To be honest the Flyers should have kept him because he had 30 point seasons in 2017-2018 and 2018-2019
I used to handle the flyers’ Worker’s Compensation claims at my old job… Having access to Patrick’s medical records, I can tell you, I am not shocked at this. People don’t realize how bad his concussion situation is.. for obvious reasons as well as legal, I am not going to get into the details but all I could say is it was crazy what this kid was going through regarding health issues
The Flyers should have drafted Makar
Journalists doing a wonderful job by not actually investigating it by asking the damn player first.
I kinda forgot who this guy was 😮
Kid just needs to go play in Europe for a year or two and get his game back in a league that isn't super physical, take it day by day.
That’s it, I’m picking him up for my fantasy squad
Good for Philly on the year so far!. 👍🏼
When healthy he hasn’t been near a second overall pic and he should play in Europe where less physical and can still make decent money
Hopefully he is ok
i wish you would retire for the health of us.
Called it when he was drafted. Numerous injuries before being drafted will equal numerous injuries as a pro. Some people are easily bruised for whatever reason.
same thing happened to me, got a scholarship to UNH, two years in concussions ruined it all and i had to "retire"
Not really weird, just media looking for a story as per usual and bullshitting the rest of us.
Nolan Patrick reminds me of Gilbert Brule , had great skill on display in juniors but broke like glass when getting hit
