Pain. I wonder if Tkachuk and Gaudreau would have stayed if we had brought Eichel

  2. If he had come here the surgery wouldn’t have worked and he would have never played again.

/Flames fan for a long time.

Just like the Blue Jays, we are everyone’s second choice.

Imagine if we had him with Gaudreau and Lindy. Goddamn.

Looking at that second tweet, I’m still so curious about what exactly the Flames offered.

Tkachuk, future 1st, former 1st rounder (must be Valimaki, Pelletier, Zary or freshly-drafted Coronato?…. or Backlund technically fits the criteria), 2 prospects. Who were those prospects?

Actual trade was Tuch, Krebs, 1st, 2nd (Buff sent a 3rd back). Even in hindsight, I don’t know why Buffalo didn’t take our package if that’s really what it was.

Brad Treliving Second best GM in flames history…

    He won a Stanley cup.

    He made the right decision.

    😡

Objectively, as an Oilers fan, I would have loved that. I’d much rather dislike him on the Flames than the Knights.

I mean they would have had to trade Tkachuk + for him in the middle of a 100 point 40 goal Tkachuk season. The same season that the Flames were 2nd in the conference and Eichel played just 34 games. People would have been pissed at Treliving if he made this move.

  10. Pretty sure this was tied to the Chucky rumour and it came down to him not wanting to be in Buffalo. This was before his big season with Johnny.

Remember when Mark Stone almost came to join his brother too?

Apparently we would have given up Tkachuk, a first round pick, a former first round pick and two prospects. The first round pick I’m sure was one of the two we gave Montreal for Toffoli or Monahan’s cap dump. Monahan may have been the former first rounder that went the other way but that would have been a big risk for Vegas given his injury concerns at the time, unless it was to make the cap work and the prospects we would’ve lost almost certainly would have been Zary and maybe Coronato, Pelletier or Poirier.
