Tom Wilson is such a dirty piece of crap player. Even though he didn't necessarily deserve the ass whooping this time…he still deserved it lol.
A full two-minute power play in overtime is likely to decide the game. Based on that, I don't have a problem with the penalty being just a minor. I think Merzlikins' response was a carryover from being run over earlier in the game.
Elvis should have politely asked Wilson to vacate the net, and then patiently wait to grab his stick.
