Why does team continue to lose to the bottom feeders. A reason why they’ll never be a contender.

  2. Drew_You_To_91

The fact that his answer is debatable is what makes this team the leafs

This game is what it is. Sometimes these ugly ugly games just happen. It’s whatever.

That said, it is good to hear some frustration from the players, especially one of the big guys, as opposed to a passive or more generic comment.

I honestly think people are taking too much from this game, aside from us needing Woll back as soon as he is completely ready.

This is worse than the Zamboni driver for sure. Also losing to Montreal in the playoffs was the lowest of the low.

  6. I was rooting for Sammy, but at this point, I don’t want to see him play another game.

Maybe it is but most of us, or maybe it’s just me, are too numb to feel it after we’ve seen so many random awful games with no heart against awful teams.

I mean, I knew this was gonna happen tonight. Not a 9 spot but I knew this 4 game stretch against awful teams would be unnecessarily difficult. It’s not like this was out of the ordinary or completely unexpected. I guess if you focus on the 9, sure. But I have seen many, many games that could’ve just as easily been 9 spots against us because we didn’t even try. Other teams usually just sit back on D when it happens.

That was a players-only-meeting level embarrassment. When will this core ever become contenders?

Glad I worked tonight, gonna pretend this didn’t happen

“It’s a hard time for me,” Samsonov said, according to the Toronto Sun’s Lance Hornby. “I need to figure it out in my head. It’s not about technique.”

Um, hell yes it is. It might be about your head too, though. Jitters make you forget technique and then you’re not positionally sound.

  11. Kinda hard to put any real sort of effort when your goalie can’t save anything. That first goal from Greenway should send Sammy to the AHL for a bit

I disagree. I think the playoff loss to Montreal was the absolute worst performance. Especially considering how bad Montreal was / is.

Like, Montreal is both bad and our rival. We should be crushing them every single time.

This was just Sammy’s worst game he’s even been in.

  13. If this game doesn’t wake them up… then I don’t know what will.

  14. Beersmoker420

Shanahan will give himself an extension after hearing this

  15. Current-Own

Why don’t the Leafs save themselves the embarrassment and everybody their money, and just give the Sabres their two points on scheduled games. These games are just a joke and a complete waste of everyone’s time.

When Woll is back, Sammy needs to be sent down. Dude’s lost his edge and needs time to get his shit together.

  17. MagicianTAO

UK fan here. I’m glad I didn’t stay up to watch the game!

And the Buffalo Sabres never won a game again.

    >”It’s a hard time for me,” Samsonov said, according to the Toronto Sun’s Lance Hornby. “I need to figure it out in my head. It’s not about technique.”

No Sammy, you’re wrong. It’s (also) about technique. Every save you did manage to make ended with you 4 feet out of position. You look like a Ford Ranger with summer tires trying to drive across York Mills Road in an ice storm.

  20. Samsonov looks done honestly. Leafs coaching staff should feel embarrassed after tonight’s performance.
