Alright, this is one of the big Montreal Canadiens prospects that I haven’t actually made a video about at all throughout the span of time I’ve been making Habs videos. Alexander Romanov is a guy that most Montreal Canadiens fans weren’t super keen on upon him being drafted 38th overall at the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. A year later however, and the true value of the CSKA Moscow defenceman is starting to show tenfold, after a stellar performance at the World Junior Championships back in Vancouver, 2019.

Romanov is a stud all around the ice, smart strong player….sometimes i get sad sergachev is gone he would of fit perfectly with the montreal young guns…..

I hate it that you put so much emphasis on PPG, when were talking defensemen points is icing on the cake not the cake itself. Besides every team needs a stay at home defensemen, puck moving defensemen are.usually risk takers and need to be paired with a stay at home defensemen. The ideal defensemen is an Andrei markov, who puts up points but has a very high hockey IQ and takes the lowest potential risks with the highest potential reward. But theres a place for stay at home Dmen like Alexei emelin, mete, or even alzner before he fell off.
If your a stay at home defensemen whose got speed like a victor mete, you got alot to offer.
The habs have had alot of success drafting Russian dmen like markov and emelin I cant wait to see romanov in a habs jersey
