People were annoyed I suggested a Robertson trade some time back, and I wonder if common sense is in short supply in Leafland, from top to bottom! You can't teach size, and toughness is inherent. Aftermath. The "Miracle on Manchester" remains the biggest single-game comeback in Stanley Cup playoffs history. The Kings clawed their way back from a 5–0 deficit to start the third period to win the game in overtime.
Embarrassed? You think these guys were embarrassed? What is the over under on "Didn't care… making vacation plans."
Defense. Keefe spent years showing players that offense is rewarded with ice time. Defense? Don't defend and it won't effect your ice time. Why is anyone surprised when no one defends?

Samsonov. Well, they could try playing defense in front of him. Remember that game where these Leafs lost so a Zamboni driver. The Hurricanes realized they really had to really protect the net and lock everything down on defense and then they did. Maybe they could try that. Marlies, I guess they could take a flyer on Petruzzelli. Hildeby has only played a handful of games on NA ice. It is way to early to send him up to the big leagues to get shelled because the big club doesn't care enough to defend.
Timmins. Wow, a little while ago he was the second coming of Bobby Orr. That complete lack of defense is showing up as a problem.
Hall and Oates. I liked that.
You think these guys are going to come out and play with some pride against the Jackets? Maybe… I guess… It is hard to have any confidence in them.
We also have a coaching problem but the media will just focus on Samsonov who was horrible. Keefe needs to be fired also.
These guys keep showing us who they truly are. Not a team, real TEAM LEADERS would have said we are focusing on D tonight. Instead they come out and only play for themselves.
Please stop going back to analytics to justify why this team is any different from past versions. It's a new paint job but still the same engine that never gets you where you want to go.
ASAP after the NHL has lifted its Christmas roster freeze, Brad Treliving will be as dumb as a doorknob to keep Samsonov up with the Leafs at the NHL level. The GM has seen the evidence as much as I welcome more fans of the Leafs to continue to make the case to him so that he hears that message as loudly and clearly as he needs to before this season becomes one without a playoff appearance.
You can't play shutdown hockey if your players are chasing individual awards. The exception is the Vezina, see if the team can commit to wining the Vezina
It wasnt the goalie. Defense was HORRIBLE and still is. This team will never with a cup with their top 4 guys. I promise you. I'll put my moms life on it lol
Scouts will now have to shift their focus on the mental toughness of goalies. Too many of these guys coming up and having mental issues… Campbell and Samsonov are no more then a number 2 or 3 goalie in this league, and to pressure them to expect more is has proven to be a massive mistake.
IIya Robidas should not play again. Ovi called him out in Washington….. for playing poorly.
Also Keefe….. barely ever calls a time-out to stop the slaughter. Leafs standing still on D.

Personally, I’ve watched this team do the same thing every year. Nothing changes………I really believe it’s time to do a rebuild……..get some great draft picks and start over……..these guys can’t win playing with each other! They have proven that time and time again!

I really don’t know why you keep pushing this BS narrative that the leafs are fine giving up a lot of goals because they think they can score a lot. I don’t know how you get that from Nylander just saying “I mean I know we can score 5” especially vs a team like the blue jackets, would you guys seriously prefer him having no confidence in games like that? He never said he was fine with them allowing 5 yet you guys continue to push that narrative
No team plays as soft before holidays (Christmas, All-Star Break, Summer) as the fly-by Leafs.
That game was a Don King production…no way some of those goals "just" went in like that , some people made a lot of money on that game, the Leafs were -150
