The maple laughs should had signed Gustafsson instead of Klingberg. Gustafsson would had only cost u $750k Klingberg $4.15 million 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️. Gustafsson is doing well for the New York Rangers 3 goals and 9 assist 12 points so far.

Klingberg has evolved from veteran power play quarterback to prime trade asset to hopelessly permanently injured in three-four weeks. I think to maintain some verisimilitude in your story you need to stretch this sequence out over a longer period of time. The Leafs have a Cap that doesn't allow them to make any mistakes ever and now they are desperately trying to clean up another.

Labrum tear with impingement. Lots of hockey players have had it (Kane, Backstrom etc.) you see it in especially goalies. I had both my hips repaired I hope he gets the help he needs. It’s horrible.
