Like you said they would have to give something back but do the flames really need another d. And also the contract, with Nate mac, rantanen, landeskog, that a lot of money they have to pay
Flames could get a lot better of a return elsewhere. Doubt the Avs would part with Byram and they don't really have anything else that enticing. That and any pick they would offer would likely be a late round pick.
Missing a solid 2C was the Capitals problem from about 2009 through 2017 and IMO it cost them at least 1 more Cup. Getting the mix right is SO hard and takes a little luck.
I think Byram for Lindholm would be great for both teams tbh. Byram is a high pick who will never get the opportunity to become a top 2 in Colorado. His value though is still a potential top 2. Better to sell high on him now for an elite 1B center than hang onto him until he tops out as a top 4 dman who can play 2nd powerplay in a pinch. Plus, Calgary is losing their entire top 4 d-core. They could really use a young potential stud defenseman to build around.
I've got another suggestion: Sean Monahan. Of course, he's not as offensively gifted as Lindholm (about 0.5 P/GP) with the Habs so far), but apart from that, I think he could be a good fit. He has the experience, he's good on faceoffs, good presence in front of the net and reliable defensively. On top of that, his salary is only 1.85 millions.

Leafs fans say the same thing. “Ever since they lost Kadri”.
Or… Sid…
Calgary is not moving Lindholm, and if by chance they did he’d be going to the east

Lindholm has been pretty much invisible since johnny and Chucky left. But I’m sure he would break out playing in denver

Philly fan here! When the Flyers visit the Flames next month, I would love to see them come home with Lindholm. He makes them a contender right now!
Riley Tufte and Ben Meyers are the answer
You guys are ridiculous clowns
Byram and not Girard?
AVS can't afford to lose any defensemen. we have a very shallow d core
