Why Hockey Hates Trevor Zegras

99 JERSEY: https://99jersey.com

Zegras has had one of the most eventful starts to a career you could have, and its not for what you might think. Despite scoring some of the prettiest goals we’ve seen, he’s now known for his bratty attitude and pesky playing style.

  1. Look when someone takes him to task and it will happen… don't complain.

    He has it coming.

When Crosby is checking you, you're a snot nosed punk that needs to grow up.

Oh the new gen are soft in general, scary soft and they don't know how to take a hit, they don't know how to throw a hit… they don't protect themselves… they are going to get hurt and it will be such a waste of potential

  2. People hating athletes my age for having a personality in a sport that desperately needs personality injected to its vains what else is new?

  3. Zegras is a whiny crybaby who's only known because his "fancy" moves. Without the Michigan's he's an average player

  4. I hate to be a petty ass at this point, but it annoys me that more people don't see this. At 5:43 he's got something sticky on the blade for this trick… not quite as impressive as it originally looks. You can tell because around 5:45, his stick comes to a stop mid-air, and gravity would normally pull the puck off the stick at that point since there's no centrifugal force from the circular stick movement countering it at that point. Yet it just stacks stuck on the blade like magic.
Anyway, it's not important: he's a great player. Hope he recovers and gets back out there soon.

  5. I dont hate zegras. I just hate how much love he gets for being an only skill player. He doesnt do anything unless its on the powerplay or he has 10 yards of space to make a play happen

  6. Ducks fan checking in. While his stats looked like a drop off this year before the injury, most of us were just happy to see that he was playing more defensively, and was a more rounded player.

  7. I like Z 👍👍
he carried the US team to gold🏆
    It’s kind of the media’s fault & the nhl….👎
    Now Bedard is facing it

  8. Connor Bedard is basically going to be the same, give it time. One dimensional players once they make it to the big leagues.

  9. The reason Torts says he's bad for the game (which I tend to agree with) is because his play is going to have young guys trying to do all these unnecessary fancy moves and prioritizing how they look rather than putting the puck in the net. The lost goals from failed attempts when the only goal of a player and team should be to win will really affect the competitive dynamic of the game. That goal where Zegras flipped the puck over the net for the bat in is a perfect example; he could've made a simple pass to the wide-open Sonny Milano for a simple tap in, yet he took huge risk for nothing.

  10. So some kid who has not proven himself in the league comes in and acts like he invented the game, and u don't understand why older people amd veterans hate him? I don't even know who he is but if he's fresh to the league and putting off the personality you described, it is a personality of one I wouldn't like

  11. He's like if Datsyuk came back but only had offensive skill and no defense and a worse attitude. That's why I don’t like him

  12. Wow…this "I do whatever I want, screw etiquette" attitude this generation holds is absolutely disgusting. No….flipping the puck over the net to be batted in kike a baseball wasn't "never imagined" it's juat always been looked at as kinda a grimey thimg to do. Kinda like shooting it off the goalies back or trying to bounce it off the boards and onto his back..not innovative, just lowbrow

  13. I'm a Kings fan and I don't mind the guy at all…if you can dangle so be it if you can't shut up and defend it the rest is just white noise no one cares

  14. Imagine if Torts winds up becoming coach of the Ducks with Zegras still on it. Forget being benched by Torts but he'd have him washing cars in the parking lot

  15. Zegras is Okocha from hockey. Fancy spinner with zero effectivness and low goal + pass stat. Liked by casual fans, but bad in advanced stats, not team player, can't play defence and do simple pass/shots, very low game IQ – all about useless tricks

  16. I've always enjoyed watching him play since you never know what could happen in the game. The new generation of players is, by default, less physical, but I don't necessarily see it as a big issue. He's still young and will grow with the proper coaching staff.

  17. Zegras will eventually figure out how often he should be attempting the lacrosse type moves to make him a more effective and dynamic player. His vision and shot are elite and with time he can prove that he is not overrated but most people are accurate in their assertion that he's got a lot of maturing to do in terms of his two way play and on-ice conduct.
