I’ve watched a lot of comeback games over my 50 years of Blues fandom, but this one is the most satisfying because it totally nullifies his circus goal.
Absolute insanity
Takeaways:
1. Goaltending wasn’t great but defense was atrocious. Krug and Faulk especially—oof. Yes I know Faulk got the winner but that was one of the worst goals allowed I’ve ever seen. It’s Parayko and a bunch of guys.
2. Top line continues to dominate. Kyrou looks like his old self again, and Thomas is simply outstanding in all areas. The secondary scoring though is very troublesome. Saad got one today but Schenn, Kapanen, etc are just not providing anything of significance. We have a scoring line and three fourth lines.
3. Incredible compete coming back from that deficit—the Bannister effect. Remember when we couldn’t even come back from a one goal deficit? We doubled them up in shots—which we should have done considering the hawks played last night. Great win considering what it took to get it, and much needed in a murderers row of a division.

Connor Bedard is very good at hockey and I will enjoy and hate watching him at the same time. And that’s ok.
Nhl Twitter hasn’t posted any of the blues 3rd period goals or the fact the hawks lost… LOL, they of course pinned bedards Michigan though.

Wait wait wait. I could have SWORN I saw that the game was final at 5-2. So I didn’t turn it back on. Ah well. Probably wouldn’t have come back if I had.
I was at the game and it was really disappointing during the first two periods to see how toxic some Blues fans can get at their own players. It was definitely sloppy play, but how some fans acted is inexcusable, I’m glad they turned it around and absolutely controlled the end of that game.
In case anyone missed it, Springfield also rallied from three down in the 3rd to win tonight, with Vrana scoring the OT winner. He now has goals in consecutive games.
