missed call, thats a penalty shot. Can't close your glove on the puck. 2 min minor unless its the blue paint then its penalty shot.

This is illegal and should have been a penalty. You are allowed to hand pass in your zone under two conditions: if the puck is on the ice and you hit it to a teammate, or if you bat it to a teammate. He caught the puck and closed his hand. This means he should have dropped it at his feet immediately. Him not doing so, and throwing the puck is a penalty, not a penalty shot, as the infraction did not cause a goal not to happen(because catching the puck was allowed)
