This pleases me greatly. My cold dead heart feels something
☝️
Bettman is seething right now
What place during the Christmas break was the 2011 and 2012 Canucks when they won the President’s Trophy?
It’s truly a Christmas miracle
I just want to say.
I have been calling this for years. I knew we had the core of a fucking wagon of a team, we just needed a good manager to give them a supporting team, and for the core to mature.
I pointed at the avalanche the year they drafted makar and then exploded. last year was the end of the pain, now we can look to win.
Benning did a lot wrong, but the organization did a few really key things right. they drafted Hughes, pettersson, demko, boeser (and gave him time to get through his personal shit.. I love them for that), hoglander, traded for Miller. they just failed to recognize where we were at in our cycle and tried to win now instead of build for the future. so our window isn’t as clean of a transition and took us much longer to enter.
thankfully, we’ve had phenomenal management change and they’ve also really turned around the other areas of the organization that were lacking with very good scouting, very good contract signings and ruthless opportunistic trading tactics that make you feel like they know what they’re doing.
this is easily the most satisfying “I told you so” of my life.
what a time to be a canucks fan. we’re back.
I remember the recent years. It was hard being a Canucks fan and telling people that you were a Canucks fan without being laughed at and mocked. The fact that this team, after all those years of being bottom feeders and a laughing stock, is now at the top honestly makes me proud.

Jacques Martin still roams in Ottawa
Canada’s team
I FUCKING LOVE THIS TEAM. JOBS NOT FINISHED BUT IM JUST GLAD BETTER DAYS ARE HERE
On paper, this team always had the talent since 2020. We just didn’t have the proper management to build good support pieces.
unironically…
plan the parade
I started watching during the 2011 Cup run, but didn’t really get into watching full-time until the lockout season
This is my first time where I’m not saying “hopefully we make the playoffs” at Christmas
We are a fucking playoff team.
Hughes is now +27 on the year. Absolutely insane progression from him. You can bet the whole team is following his leadership
Neat.
And they went on to great success right? …right?
H I S T O R I C
I guess..
Sports Net: and now let’s talk about the Leafs….
