Hi everyone, Corey here again … waiting for a flight at DIA to go see the family for the holidays.
It’s time for the second edition of our Avalanche mailbag this season at the Denver Post. It turns out there is a way to submit questions on the website (whoops), but this worked out really well last time so I’m back to ask for more Qs on the Avs, the NHL or whatever else is on your mind.
If you’d rather submit them through the Post’s site, you can do so here:

Here is the mailbag from last month, which was all questions from y’all on here. Thank you again for that.

And a feature in Sunday’s paper on Miles Wood, where his former teammates affectionately call him a goalie killer and say a younger Miles resembled Luis Mendoza:

There is a lot of talk about how the system in Calgary is the reason Huberdeau is struggling so much there as opposed to Florida.
What system does the Avalanche use? And could you see a player like Huberdeau excelling here with a fresh start (obviously significant salary considerations to figure out)?
Happy holidays and have a safe flight.
If I remember correctly, our boys had a similar season when we won the Cup; struggling a little to find an identity, stretches of shaky play defensively, goalies struggling to find consistency. My question is, when is Jared Bednar going to cut his hair again? Because once he did that in 2022 we were untouchable and ended up winning the Cup.
At this point, what do you see as the priorities for the front office going into the trade deadline? Safe to say 2C/forward is priority 1?
