You're right about Jones. Production and impact. It's not just stats, it's about how the team plays in front of a specific goaltender.. Right now Jones has the confidence of the Leaf players.
Can you imagine the price a goalie would bring in this market, and particularly for a team that needs one bad? It's a price that can't be paid. This is what team sports were about — facing the challenges, injuries amongst them. It has the potential of building a stronger team, which becomes evident when the injured player returns.
I wouldn't use trade capital for a goalie. Rideout Jones. Even if you have to play Sammy, he's still getting the wins.
If Toronto keeps losing because it is goaltending then revisit the situation otherwise use the trade capital for a good defenseman
