Sadly I was unable to se the game. It sounds like this was not their best effort, but a win is still a win! I'll see you again on the 27th for Washington!
This game was a repeat of the prior game and they are lucky Buffalo didn't run them out of the Garden. It's the same Rangers as last year with 2 and 3 goal leads they lose the game, inconsistent coverage and bad passes. They are letting Igor do all the work.
The OT was a great way to go into the start of the Christmas season!

I'd rather have the hiccups and the growing pains now rather than later on in the season. I have stayed away from commenting on some of your posts because I don't agree with sensationalising losses or questioning the greatness of this team just for clicks. However I understand. Defense once again had some costly turnovers. The Schneider one was the worst. Also, how the hell did the Rangers lose sight of Dahlin and allow him to get so lost to the point he got in the perfect spot to rip a shot right in the middle of the ice, between the two Rangers faceoff circles. Glad the Rangers won but the defense once again made way too many mistakes. Those mistakes might not cost the Rangers during the regular season, however, in the playoffs that kind of defensive play will get you bounced early.
Buffalo continues to have the Rangers' number lately and we saw it last night in giving them all sorts of problems. At times, the Sabres won the puck battles and caused a lot of Rangers turnovers. Braden Schneider's costly one led to the third Buffalo goal to tie it. Bad habits have led to the recent losses and this game nearly got away from them. Thankfully Igor came up huge and Mike Zibanejad made the biggest play of the night to set up Chris Kreider's overtime winner. It was a feel good win considering how much of a collapse the third period was just 24 hours earlier.
Igor still needs to improve and give up fewer goals and stay consistent positionally. More north-south play instead of east-west. Got to find ways to penetrate the box more than just pass the puck around the perimeter. Special teams have been great, goaltending has been overall good and improved defense. But the Rangers still need to clean things up. Got to beat the teams well below them in the standings.
Zibanejad knocked that right out of the air 👀
