The Dallas Stars fall in overtime to the St. Louis Blues by a final score of 4-3. After the Stars opened up a two goal lead with goals from Mason Marchment and Ty Dellandrea, the Blues scored three unanswered to take the lead. A lackluster second period for Dallas led to a great push in the 3rd and Evgenii Dadanov tipped in the equalizer to send the game to overtime. Colton Parayko scored the game winner for St. Louis and the Stars drop the second game of a back to back, but do earn a point and now are in a three way tie for first place in the Central Division. Joey explains a theme of physical teams having success against Dallas, and opponents taking away the middle of the rink in the offensive zone forcing the Stars to work the puck around the perimeter of the zone and struggling to get great looks. With Jake Oettinger possible being out for a month, Joey thinks this is a great time to find out what the Stars are made of. Scott Wedgewood will hold down the fort and stopped 30 shots in the loss this evening.

Wedge was awesome. The walk-ins at the blue are infuriating. You get a sense of impending doom every time.
Love the podcast I look forward to it every day sad to see them fall in. Ot but looking at the bright side. We got a point coming off of back to back. Games.
You are right. We rely way too much on perimeter passing and not enough bodies converging on goal. Not much of an inside game. I'm not real sold on our shooters. I think offensively we are not keeping up with the skill level of much of the league. We're great at tip-ins. What else are we great at? Perimeter passing? We don't have any reliable sharpshooters on the perimeter. We have to get in the slot, period. I will say this, the compressed NHL schedule really hurts the game. There shouldn't be ANY back to backs in this league.
The fact that we can barely beat the Sens and lose to the Blues is genuinely concerning. At this rate we will be lucky to get a wildcard spot at the end of the season.
Everyone needs to relax. We got a road point on a back to back with our starter on the shelf. Tomorrow we have the Crack Hens at home! See y'all over there.
I wish the Stars were more physical in terms of their game, a stronger forecheck, tougher on defense, etc. Wedgewood is a pretty good backup goaltender. If you have a 2.83 GAA and your save percentage goes down.. Does that mean pucks are getting passed you?? What is a good safe percentage for a goalie?? What happened to Otter?? We have problems with multi-goal leads, hopefully 🤞 that gets fixed in the next 20 games.
