What’s up with missile
The biggest crime in the super league war was that they never did a Super Bowl knights vs broncos. From everything I’ve heard all the players at Brisbane and newcastle were keen because in their heads it decided who the real 1997 premiers are. The problem was the arl boardroom and the super league boardroom were terrified of what would happen if their champions lost. Rather similar to 1984 when Wynnum and Canterbury were the respective champions of the BRL and NSWRL. Both sides wanted a championship match. The mortimers vs Lewis, Dowling and miles. But Wynnum and Canterbury boardrooms were concerned about the ramifications for each league if the other won. If arguably the greatest BRL team ever got smacked by the dogs that forever destroys any legitimacy the BRL had. Meanwhile I’m Sydney if the Wally Lewis Wynnum team won then there’s doubts over how great the Sydney comp truly is.
