Would you guys have wanted to offer this? I’m actually glad we didn’t our d core is playing all right and $2M is gonna be a lot for a 6-7d with our cap next year

If it was one year. I would maybe consider. But 2 years. I’d rather not take the gamble. I was also hoping closer to 1.5.
I’m sure they got some moves in mind. Soucy is also back soon.

Very sad to see him go, but very happy to see him with a new, happy home. Good luck, Mr. Bear!

Too much, too long, for not a big enough upgrade on our team. I would rather pony up a pick for Tanev or something similar. I’m okay with spending a little since its looking like we’re in for another sizeable roster turn over next season so we might as well give the guys a better chance at winning a round or more.

After what he went through I don’t blame him for chasing the $$ and term. We couldn’t and wouldn’t pay him that. Glad someone will though.

Slight overpay I think but personally I would’ve been mostly fine with the Canucks making this move. Man’s a fine 6-7 defenseman. 2×2 for a competent enough defensemen who can slot up in a pinch would’ve sat fine with me.

Good on him, hope he does well

Not at all worth it, surprised he refused to sign with the Canucks for cheap considering they saved his nhl career. Says a lot about him tbh

My guess is that Washington was willing to give him the extra year and a little more money than the Canucks did. Can’t really blame Bear for wanting a little more security after what happened to him getting injured playing for Canada at the Worlds. Getting Zadorov undoubtedly lessened the need to pay whatever to re-sign Bear.

yeah no thanks

It will be interesting to see who shakes lose in Washington now. TVR, Carlson, and Jensen all on the right side already.

Happy to see him get paid. Thought he got a bad deal after the injury, glad it worked out for him.
Glad we didn’t give it to him though.

2 years? pass.

Ah well. Liked him but glad to see him getting paid if it was too rich for the Canucks
