Let me your thoughts the Dell signing and possibility of Leafs adding Thornton…
Leafs sign Aaron Dell for a bargain rate for depth and expansion draft protection–Good move on their part IMHO. Thornton would be a nice addition,and,would have a semi-realistic chance to go for the Cup.
Even though I'm a Pens fan, I'd love to see Toronto break their 54-year jinx. Toronto loves hockey so I love Toronto. (It doesn't hurt that you guys have the most awesome invention in the history of mankind – poutine!)

Thornton? Seriously? Maybe they should sign Jagr as well. I'm not buying into this one. There's no spot for him on the roster, he's too slow, and leafs have little cap space left. Dell is a good depth/injury insurance move. Surprised he did not get a better offer from somewhere else. Not his fault the Sharks d core sucks.
There's something about playing in a Leaf jersey that causes fundamentals,team play, forechecking, grit, will, determination, ability to dictate play and heart to disappear ?
The culture of the team is toxic and now Dubas s banking on the off season moves to overcome the core group of floaters and goal sucks.

Would love to get Thornton they were lookin at him i think 2 or 3 yrs ago. I know Anderson needs to go .. Glad we got another Goalie very happy been a LEAFS fan for 39 long yrs. This team reminds me of the 93 team with all the signings they did to make a very scrappy team then now this team looks thw same way should be interesting this yr

If they can get him cheap, I say go for it. He still has a presence on the ice, and I expect he'd have an impact in the locker room, so why not? And he might just teach Mathews how to be a complete top tier centre, because he's tantalizingly close.

Who in the hell would sign Thorton? How did the Marleau deal workout? Move on frim that ..if you want to sign veterans sign those that have win in the playoffs.
Don’t discount the Boston Bruins kicking the tires in Jumbo Joe. With Marshand on the shelf for the start of next (shortened) season and Pasta possibly missing half of it, Boston might could come calling.
I live in San Jose & l am a Sharks "Finatic" & l.know the Sharks will never win a Stanley Cup l have made my peace with that so can Jumbo Joe win a Cup w/Toronto?? Maybe, maybe not but his chances would be better w/Toronto than w/the Sharks it couldn't hurt w/him as a 4th line center maybe a 3rd liner center. My point is Sharks need so much help even as a non-contender the Maple Leads l think will benefit from Joe Thorntons experience & drive that he has
Trade Nylander and with that 7 mill cap space sign Perry 1mill, Chara 1mill, jumbo joe 1mill and offer Mike Hoffman 4mill per for 5yrs.. That really adds depth , grit and scoring power.

The last thing they need is another aging fourth line centre. They already have that in Spezza.
