If it wasn’t Payton’s problem- why didn’t he let the GM join him at the press conference instead of pretending it was a performance ( a spark ) issue? The Broncos were still in the hunt, and are pulling the plug – 100% for financial reasons. Mike Florio has the better take on this issue.
