It's amazing how so many can see the same video but see different things. Here is what actually happened. If you're too blind to see it with the provided slow-mo footage feel free to screen record it and play it even slower so you know what I'm saying is true. The Vegas player was taking a swipe at the puck which was in midair trying to score a goal. During that swipe at the puck his stick was lifted by an Anaheim player. That stick lift changed the trajectory of the stick blade causing it to make contact with Gibson's face. Had the Vegas players stick not been lifted, Gibson wouldn't have been hit in the face. There was no mal intent here.
