Gotta trust I guess, but hard to see where this franchise is going sometimes. I mean this is your most exciting prospect killing it in the AHL while the team struggles, what are we really waiting for? Not to beat a dead horse but being on the outside looking in in terms of playoffs with no rookies really playing is off putting to say the least

  2. I really think Ed would develop better playing against nhl talent, but what do I know (no really, I don’t know shit)

I hope he takes Reimer’s roster spot once Husso is healthy

Does the player lose his patience and ask to leave?

This team has absolutely no direction at all.

What is the point of sucking AND not developing any of our talent? We were doing that under Holland.

Going to grab some popcorn for this thread. 🍿

This is good move. He was not going to play big minutes and he needs more PP time. ZERO point to him playing in NHL right now.

If we will downvote this post to -50000, Stevie will bring Simon up. I promise! Oh, and sorry, OP.

  9. Good keep Ed away from defensive terrorist Lalonde. He’d just ruin him like he’s trying to ruin Mo.

I must be in the minority thinking this is the correct move.

Making paper moves to save NHL salary money from your top prospect on ELC is a disgustingly cheap maneuver for an original 6 org. I hope this was not a paper move.

Hey Yzerman, loved ya as a leader and player. Right now I’m questioning what you’re doing to stop this horrid skid.

    This ain’t it

I think Ed should be on this team. That being said, we signed (and traded for) all of these “bottom” 4 defenders (Määttä, Chariot, Petry Walman) so that we didn’t have to rush prospects into the NHL like we did with the first wave of Kenny rebuild picks (Cholowski, Rassmussen, etc).

I think the sentiment about this team needing to be infused with Stevie picks is correct but a year early. Not to mention that Red Wings Brass still has decisions to make on some of our depth pieces and they won’t want to do that until after the trade deadline/the playoff picture has been set. I think it’s unfortunate Edvinsson hasn’t been offered an opportunity to stick in the NHL but given how he’s playing, he will be up with the Red Wings permanently sooner rather than later.

I think the biggest issue with this team is not having a “top pair” talent partner for Mo, and the fact that we still need a top 6 LW, before we even talk about the goaltending.

    Patience is key.
