If I was Ruff I would start Vanecek tonight since this is a game the devils know they can win. I would start Daws tomorrow to see him against real competition. If he does well I’d also start Daws against the Caps on Wednesday.
My thought process is with VV starting tonight the devils still have a good chance to get points out of this game. Since Daws is still of an unknown commodity I wouldn’t chance losing against the lower competition. If VV starts against the Bruins (even if he plays well), we could still lose that game.
