    Goddammit.

Edit: happy for him to do what he needs to get better. Goddammit what this means for the team, selfishly.

So he’s out through the regular season I’d assume

  3. Wonder what’s next for him. Wonder what’s next for Drury to do.

    > Sources have told the Post that Chytil…has made progress while skating on his own at the club’s practice rink over the last four weeks and is committed to returning this year

That last bit is very positive news, and it’s not like he can’t come back to New York if he’s ready – it’s just a plane ride away.

I have a feeling we may see him before the end of the season

  5. Why would he go back to his home country? Is he done playing?

Gonna come back as Filip Heatl and light the league up. In all seriousness, hope he continues to get all the help he needs.

Hopeful for a quick turnaround as a ranger fan but obviously his health is #1.

Seems like a curious decision though in general if we really have any hope for him being back in the near”ish” future. If he was close at all the rangers wouldn’t let him jump to another continent. Wondering if something also is going on with his family and this is a solution for all sides? Either way, best of luck in our boys recovery.

I understand the reasoning, but I just hate how teams don’t disclose injury details. It’s not fun waiting for weeks for an update then only getting something like “he’s progressing, we hope to get him back soon”

The *best case* scenario is now pull a kucherov to have him ready for the playoffs and use his $4M at the deadline to get a bonino replacement at 3C or maybe a 3rd line winger like a Vatrano or Duclair. That super charged lineup of a deadline forward + Kakko + Chytil is dream worthy.

… but the possibility is out there that we don’t see him again till next season, or maybe ever.

  10. I’ll be honest I don’t have a good feeling about all this

I feel like this is the final nail in the coffin on his season and maybe his career

Home cooking, family and friends are good for recovery. My nephew has some issues from a concussion it’s just a waiting game from what the doctors say and he’s not a professional athlete

  13. I’m glad he’s made the decision to focus on getting healthy. At his age, that should be the priority for both him and the team. Hopefully, being home will help.

Sending positive vibes to Chytil. I hope he feels better soon. Forget hockey at this point.

I hope to see him back sooner than later, but as a guy that has had more than their fair share of concussions, I hope he takes whatever time is required to live a long healthy life.

I’d much rather have him retire than experience a significant loss in quality of life.

Honest question – if he retires…

    – does Drury pay his full contract?
    – does his salary come off the books entirely and no salary cap issues?

  17. Im glad he got his bag over the summer though. This sucks but at least the team’s doing good.

Best wishes for Chytil to have a good recovery. I wouldn’t be opposed to the Rangers shutting him down until next season. In the meantime Drury has to do some cap shenanigans for the trade deadline.

Filip you got this. Get better and come back home. We’re all pulling for you
