The WORST Coach For All 32 NHL Teams

The WORST Coach For All 32 NHL Teams

From the greatest player of all time taking a stab at being the bench boss and failing miserably to coaches who have had success in the league but just made several poor decisions trading away Elite Superstar talents and single-handedly derailing an entire franchise in this video we’re going to

Be taking a look at the worst coach for all 32 NHL teams the Anaheim Ducks Pierre p in the Years leading up to the Walt Disney Company selling the team in 2005 and their subsequent 2006 Stanley Cup Championship run under Randy Carlile the ducks went through a total of five

Different coaches from 1997 to 2004 that’s almost a coach per year of the three coaches that never made it past one season Pierre P tops the list at the worst head coach in Ducks history in his one season with the Ducks he posted a record of 26 43 and 13 which gave the

Team only 65 points and was the lowest in franchise history at the time locking them into sixth place in the Pacific Division and was especially bad considering that the teams that preceded and succeeded his tenure both made the playoffs the Arizona Coyotes Wayne Gretzky even though the 1980 81 Winnipeg

Jets had one of the worst seasons in NHL history with a record of 957 and 14 while also setting an NHL record with 30 consecutive losses their worst coach in franchise history is arguably the greatest player of all time Wayne Gretzky coached the franchise for a full

Four years which many believe would not have lasted that long if he weren’t the greatest player of all time through Gretzky’s time as a coach his teams never came close to the playoffs finishing above 500 only once an important side note here Wayne Gretzky’s former assistant coach Rick toet was

Sentenced to two years worth of probation for running an illegal gambling ring that allegedly involved Gretzky’s wife which undoubtedly tarnished the franchise and Gretzky’s name the Boston Bruins Phil Watson the years between 1955 and 1966 saw some horror times for such a storyed franchise like the Boston Bruins for

Much of this time Milt Schmidt was the head coach who some people would consider to be the worst in franchise history but he was at least able to lead his team to back-to-back Stanley Cup Final appearances early in his coaching tenure in the 1956 and 57 season but

There was one season during that period in particular that was especially brutal and that was when they had the record of 15 47 and 8 in the 6162 season under the watchful eye of Phil Watson Watson didn’t last very long after his abys first season as head coach being fired

Shortly after starting the next season with an unimpressive 1 18 and five record Phil Watson is easily the worst head coach in Bruins history sporting a 268 win percentage only winning 16 out of the 84 games he coached the Buffalo Sabers Ralph Krueger Ralph Krueger was

Hired by the Sabers back in 2019 to replace Phil Howley Ralph Krueger was supposed to be a players coach his coaching record with the Sabres turned out to be 36 49 and 12 not only did he not compose a winning record with Buffalo but he made very questionable

Decisions with the talent he had case in point Jeff Skinner Jeff Skinner was either sitting on the bench or placed on the fourth line once Krueger left Skinner’s game returned to form there are a lot of former Sabers who struggled under Krueger that went on to succeed on

Other teams in the league Brandon Montour after getting dealt to Florida put up 29 goals 85 assists for 114 points he was also a huge reason why Florida upset theall Boston Bruins in the first round of the 2022 23 postseason then there’s Sam Reinhardt in his seven years with the Sabres

Reinhardt would score a maximum of 25 goals twice with the Panthers he scored 33 goals in his first season and 31 in the 2223 season then of course there’s Taylor Hall Hall scored two goals and registered 17 assists for 19 points in 37 games played then after getting dealt

To Boston in the same season he would go on to score eight goals and register six assists for 14 points in 16 games games played when multiple players go on to thrive under other coaches that’s how you know it’s time to fire your coach Ralph Krueger was fired toward the end

Of the 2020 21 season after going on a 12-game losing streak the Calgary Flames Greg Gilbert he was hired to replace former coach Don Haye in the middle of the 20201 season during Greg Gilbert’s time behind the bench things did not go so well for the Calgary Flames they

Finished 10th in the Western Conference in Gilbert’s only full season as their head coach he sandwiched that campaign with a 48-2 finish in the 200201 season after replacing Don Haye and a 613 and6 record to start the 20022 2003 season before being replaced during his time

There he also feuded with Mark sard the team’s most talented forward that was not named Jerome MCA at the time the tension between the two led to svard getting traded to the Atlanta Thrashers by GM Craig Button for a Russian prospect that nobody ever heard of 17

Games into the 20022 2003 season Buton traded Savar to Atlanta for russland zanolin now you might be asking yourself who the heck is that he was a forward who played in the Russian super league and a second round pick in the 2000 draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning

Needless to say he never made an impact at the NHL level after this trade was made things got way worse the Flames went one7 and0 over the eight games immediately following the trade leading directly to Greg Gilbert being fired the Carolina Hurricanes Paul holgren on June 15th 1992 holgren was named head coach

Of the Hartford Whalers when Brian Burke left the Whalers in September of 1993 Paul holr assumed the position of GM as well on November 16th 1994 he ended up stepping aside as head coach due to frustration with a lack of effort from his players and desire to focus on his

Role as the team’s GM he was succeeded by the assistant general manager at the time Pierre Maguire on March 30th 1994 Paul holr was arrested for drunk driving he entered the Betty Ford Center for treatment and the Whaler’s owner at the time was going to fire him however he

Had a change of heart after having conversations with hom groom’s counselor and gave him another shot after Pierre Maguire was fired in 1994 homeg groom returned as head coach on November of 1995 hrom was fired and replaced by assistant coach and former Detroit Junior Red Wings head coach Paul Maurice

At the time of his dismissal the Whalers had only won one of its last eight games after starting out the series 4-0 Paul hram only coached one full 84 Game season and was only able to muster up a 379 points percentage through 161 total games in the four years he coached and

Failed to make the playoffs throughout his sporadic tenure the Chicago Blackhawks EBY Goodfellow the Blackhawks have had some truly awful seasons in their history in the two seasons from 1927 to 1929 Chicago had a total of four different head coaches that combined for 14 wins in 88 games played however eie

Goodfellow may not only be on the list of the worst in Chicago Blackhawks history he just may be the worst coach of all time between 1950 and 195 52 he coached a team that was in the middle of a tail spin into a downright nose dive

Posting a total of 30 wins in 140 games played Goodfellow might have been a nice guy but he wasn’t a good coach through one and a half Seasons he posted a 30 91 and 19 record the Colorado Avalanche Dave Chambers although the 1989 1990 Quebec nordes only garnered a 194 points

Percentage under Michelle berson berson actually isn’t the worst coach in their franchise history yes he was of course fired after that horrific season but he had already coached the nordes to seven straight playoff appearances from 1981 through to 1987 Dave Chambers who had no previous coaching experience mind you

Took the helm after berson and was fired in his second stint with the team and was only able to record a total of 19 wins through 98 total games he lasted the entire 1990 91 season but was fired after only 18 games in the 9192 season

And after that stint he never coached in in the NHL again the Columbus Blue Jackets Dave King in the year 2000 drafting an expansion team had heavy limitations the Columbus Blue Jackets had to assemble their initial roster from what was the scraps of other teams so Dave King the first head coach in

Blue Jackets history was dealt a pretty poor hand King had a mere 37.6 win percentage from the year 2000 through to 2003 putting up a record of 64 106 and 34 the jackets finished last in both of the two full seasons that he coached posting only 28 wins in that first

Season and 22 in the next Dave king and the Columbus Blue Jackets stood in last yet again in January of 2003 at which point he was fired the Dallas Stars herb Brooks the Dallas Stars and Minnesota North Stars have had success in hiring coaches that last more than a couple of

Years with a couple of Exceptions there is one glaring sore spot in their list of coaches and that is her Brooks who you may remember as the head coach of the 1980 United States Olympic team that upset the heavily favored Russian team in Lake Placid although an otherwise

Talented coach he only made it through one season before getting the axe putting up a record of 19 48 and 13 in 80 games played the Detroit Red Wings Larry Wilson now this has to be the worst coaching record ever Larry Wilson managed to win only three games in the

NHL through 36 games played to only win three games out of 36 in an NHL season especially for a team like the Detroit Red Wings is simply an excusable as you can imagine Larry Wilson never coached in the NHL after this disastrous season the Edmonton Oilers Dallas eans the one

Good thing that came out of the Dallas eans era was the Conor McDavid lottery win his time behind the bench was just a mess their goal tending tandem was Ben Scrivens and Victor fast on defense they had Nikita ninan Justin Schultz and Andrew ference plus a forward core who

Couldn’t play a lick of Defense in 113 games there Dallas eans went 3 6 63 and 14 now that is truly awful sure the team was bad but Dallas eans certainly wasn’t helping he was fired in the 2014 2015 season when the Oilers had a record of

719 and five after a short stint from Craig Mavish behind the bench the Oilers recalled Todd Nelson from the Oklahoma City baren to be the next head coach so how did he do with that same Oilers team Nelson led the team to a 17 22 and 7

Record now that is a drastic improvement from when Ekans was be behind the bench the Florida Panthers Dwayne Sutter the Florida Panthers Were Somehow able to make a Stanley Cup run a mere 3 years after becoming a franchise in 1993 which is an unbelievable feat however things

After the turn of the century weren’t going great for the Panthers as they would make some serious disastrous coaching decisions after losing in the quarterfinals in the year 2000 under Terry Murray the Panthers got off to a miserable start the very next year which led to Murray’s mid-season firing after

Murray got the axe Dwayne Sutter took over and finished the season with a sub 500 record of 1620 6 and4 the team continued on a downward Trend and Dwayne Sutter was fired 26 games into The Following season with a record of 615 2 and3 Dwayne Suter never coached in the

NHL again after only posting 22 wins in his two years with the Florida Panthers the LA Kings Larry rean and Fred Glover it was hard to choose one here so let’s quickly take a look at both of these failed coaches Larry Regan only coached a little more than one NHL season in his

Entire career he led the 19771 LA Kings to a miserable 2540 and 13 record and began the 7172 season 27-1 before being demoted in favor of Fred Glover now Fred Glover might not only be the worst coach in LA Kings history but he sure is close to beating out Ebie Goodfellow for being

The worst in NHL history he took over just 10 games into the 7172 season and mustered up 18 wins in 68 games before being let go the following season the Minnesota Wild Todd Richards Todd Richards was the second coach to ever stand behind the bench for the wild

Franchise and in the list of seven coaches to have the honor Todd Richards has the worst record to show for his time with a sub 500 record of 77 71 and 16 never reaching the postseason the Montreal Canadians Mario tromble statistically speaking Mario tromble may not be the worst coach in Canadians

History but he is forever remembered for being a part of one of the most conscious controversial moments in franchise history making him the most hated coach the Montreal Canadians ever had Mario tromble was a former Canadians player who had some issues with Patrick W that alone should have been a huge red

Flag but for whatever reason the Habs ignored it and hired him anyway the two did not get along and tensions began to rise until it finally boiled over in December of 1995 Mario tromble kept Patrick wat in the net in a game against the Detroit Red Wings after having

Allowed eight goals against it took until the nth goal going in for Patrick W to finally be pulled from his net but before Patrick W went to the locker room he stopped by team President Ronald Cory and told him that he would never play for the Canadians again at this point

The Canadians had a choice either get rid of tromble or get rid of their star goalie they chose the latter and they chose poorly this trade is how the Canadians went from winning the Stanley Cup in 1993 to being a shadow of their former s in 159 games coached between

1995 through to the end of 1997 Mario tromble finished with a record of 71 63 and 25 leading the team to two postseasons with first round exits in each appearance the Nashville Predators John Hines throughout Nashville’s brief history they’ve only had four head coaches including this year’s new bench

Boss Andrew brunette now the title for worst coach was between Barry trotz and John Hines based on their statistics and although trotz has a lower winning percentage with a 5-33 Hines only coached a fraction of the games trots did from 2020 through to the end of the 2223 season John Hines coached 248

Regular season games with a record of 134 96 and 18 Barry trotz on the other hand coached the Predators from 1998 through to 2014 and led the team for 1,196 regular season games and 50 playoff games so even though tr’s win percentage is less than John Hines being

A coach for 16 years in the league with the same team is no small feat funny enough Barry trots rejoined the franchise as their GM and his first move was to fire Coach Hines all in all the Predators haven’t had a coach that really came in and made a mess of their

Franchise they’re most definitely the luckiest team in this video the New Jersey Devils Doug Carpenter Doug Carpenter logged more mid-season fire rings in the NHL than he did playoff appearances shortly after the halfway mark of the 1987 88 season the Devils decided that 290 regular season games

And three straight playoff no shows were enough to let Carpenter go as it happened he was replaced by Jim sh enfeld who then promptly brought the same Devils team to the third round of the 1988 Eastern Conference Finals the New York Islanders Mike Milbury now Mike Milbury is an interesting case study he

Had back-to-back 100 Point seasons in his first two years as the coach in Boston including a Stanley Cup run in the 1989 1990 season and was named the executive of the Year by the sporting news however his coaching career could not have been more different in New York

In 1995 Milbury was brought in to fix an Islanders franchise that was trending in the wrong direction under Lauren Henning but Milbury only threw gasoline on the fire that was already lit he’d end up going 2250 and 10 in his first season 13 23 and9 in his second before he then

Replaced himself with Rick bonis he then went 8 n and two after taking the job back from Bonus and then finally went 1329 and three the next year before stepping away from the bench once again as a coach Milbury was pretty terrible but as a GM he was even worse with his

Endless list of dumb trades including zido charara Brian McCabe Roberto Lang Longo OE okan Tim Connelly and Jason Spa man he really messed the franchise up the New York Rangers Brian tracher when Brian tracher was hired as the head coach of the Rangers in 2002 it was a

Little weird to say the least for everyone involved Rangers fans had spent years hating him because he was such a key player for the Rival Islanders for so many years and Islanders fans viewed him as a Traer for taking the job so how did he even get the job in the first

Place well trach wrote a 90-page letter to GM Glenn sather stating why he deserved the job maybe if trach spent more time trying to figure out how to win than writing letters his time with the Rangers would have turned out a little differently he was fired just 54

Games into the season after coaching a Rangers team that included Eric Lindros Peter nedved Mark Messier pavl bur and many other notable players with that amount of Firepower he only posted a record of 21 26 and 7 the Ottawa senator ERS Rick bonis Rick bonis through three

Years in Ottawa was lucky to make it to double digits in wins twice now maybe it’s not all his fault he was coaching a new expansion team in the league from 1992 through to 1995 his record was 39 wins and 178 losses he was never able to

Show the organization that he could even come close to cracking a 500 record I mean how did the Ottawa Senators even keep him on the bench this long it’s strange that they didn’t fire him right away after posting a ridiculously awful 1070 and4 record in his first season the

Philadelphia Flyers Paul holgren before he was the Flyers GM Paul holgren served as the Flyers bench boss from 1988 to 1991 in three plus Seasons at the helm he accumulated just 107 victories and produced a 464 Overall winning percentage hom grin’s best campaign was his first season with the Flyers

Finishing the 1988 89 season with a 36 36 and8 overall record before falling in the postseason to the Montreal Canadians sadly it was all downhill from there Philadelphia finished nine games under 500 the following year and four games below par during his final full season what’s worse is that the club failed to

Qualify for the postseason in back-to-back years for the first time in franchise history hom grin began the 1991 92 season but was fired just after 24 games and an 814 and two start the Pittsburgh Penguins Lou and Gotti now statistically speaking Lou angti is clearly the worst coach in Pittsburgh

Penguins history in his one and only year as coach he established franchise records for fewest wins in a season fewest points in a season and most losses in a season he did however inherit a last place team from Eddie Johnson in the 1983 season but he

Managed to make the team worse which is a Surefire way to lose your job after one season however the Penguins would eventually rebound shortly after his brief tenure drafting Mario Lemieux with the first overall pick the year directly after angotti was let go so if you think about it the Penguins definitely owe

Angotti a ton as his terrible coaching skills were instrumental in changing the franchise forever as they were able to draft Mario Lemieux the San Jose Sharks George Kingston George Kingston was the head coach of the Norwegian National ice hockey team before he was hired as the first head coach in San Jose Sharks

History prior to their inaugural season in 1991 considering that the team’s roster was composed of Castaways from other NHL franch ches with the exception of Doug Wilson who was acquired by the sharks from the Chicago Blackhawks in September before the season started you definitely would not have expected great

Results out of this team but with that being said his time behind the bench ended up being much worse than expected in Kingston’s two seasons with the sharks they had a record of 28 129 and 7 they finished the 1992 93 season with 71 losses which is the most in one season

In NHL history Kingston was then fired as the head coach after the 9293 season and never coached a single game for another NHL team ever again the Seattle Kraken Dave haol now some of the coaches in this video were the franchise’s first ever head coach and the same goes for

Dave haxel of the Seattle Kraken fortunately for him and the Kraken they are currently nowhere near as bad as some of the others on this list the Kraken are underperforming this year especially after we saw them make a deeper run in the playoffs than any of

Us expected them to make as they knocked out the reigning Cup champs so let’s take a look at this as a glass half full situation and say Dave haxall is the best coach the Kraken have ever had but also if they continue their losing ways

This year he might be out of a job sooner than later the St Louis Blues Barkley plager Barkley plager was quite a staple for the blues as a player helping them make the Stanley Cup finals three consecutive times Barkley plager only coached for parts of Four Seasons

With the St Louis Blues but he was given the chance at one full season as head coach in the 197 7879 season which subsequently ended up being the franchise’s all-time worst posting an 1850 and12 record after that disaster of a season he was still somehow allowed to

Coach in the beginning of The Following season but was then fired after posting a record of 714 and 3 he would however come back briefly as an interm head coach in the 1982 season after the firing of Emil Francis but plager would never be given another real chance at

Coaching in the NHL again after posting a career total of 49 wins 96 losses and 33 ties plager did actually help the team make the playoffs in the 8283 season but they ended up losing in the first round the Tampa Bay Lightning jacqu deare jacqu deare took over the

Head coaching job in Tampa Bay during the 1997 season after two previous coaches in the same year only managed to win a total of two games in 17 attempts however before having success in the league before this time Jac deare was not able to do much better with the

Squad posting an extremely poor 1542 and eight record to finish off with the most miserable season in franchise history at 17 wins 55 losses and 10 ties his follow-up season as the full-time head coach wasn’t any better he posted a record of 19549 which ranks second worst in franchise history behind the previous

Season Jac deare was fired in 1999 the Toronto Maple Leafs George punch IML mlock was known as a ruthless coach who would berate his players verbally physically and mentally during the late 19 1970s the Maple Leafs were a promising young team filled with many Star players they had Daryl sitler Lanny

McDonald Bor a salming and many others during this time mlock began to implement strict dress codes and heavy fines if his rules were violated it is said that mlock was strongly anti-union and because of this he had a lot of animosity towards Daryl sitler because of his involvement in the NHL’s player

Association this dislike led to inlock undermining sitler at every opportunity he could he went so far as to go to Court to get an injunction to prevent sitler and his teammate Mike paler from appearing on the popular TV series Showdown mlock then demanded that Daryl sitler paid $500,000 to wave his no

Trade clause when sitler refused mlock traded his best friend and star player Lanny McDonald to the Colorado Rockies in an effort to spite sitler even though it was destructive for the team in protest of this decision s sitler removed the captain C from his jersey now during his time with the Leafs mlock

Did have impressive stats with a record of 370 wins 275 losses and 125 ties with a total of four Stanley Cups but with his power tripping Antics and driving his own team captain to take the seat off their Jersey he has to be the most hated coach which makes him the worst

Coach in Leaf’s history the Vancouver Canucks Hal Leo when the Vancouver Canucks joined the league in 1970 their first head coach was clearly given a team that lacked NHL Talent Hal Leo was the unfortunate soul who had his name next to these season’s records 24 wins

46 losses and eight ties in his first season 20 wins 50 losses and eight ties in his second season he was inevitably fired after those tough Seasons joining the Evers so long list of coaches who never coached again after fewer than five seasons in the NHL now we have an

Honorable mention here a more recent coach John torella John torella spent a single season coaching Vancouver and is most remembered for the time that he forced his way into the Calgary Flames Locker room after the end of the first period John torella was an absolute Loose Cannon trying to fight the entire

Flames locker room and then was suspended for 15 days and a total of six games the Las Vegas golden knights Peter dor unfortunately for Peter dbor he has no choice in being named the golden night’s worst coach ever with that being said the team has only had three coaches

Since their inaugural season back in 2017 first they had Gerard Gant who won the Jack Adams award in the team’s first ever season so he certainly can’t be the worst and then you have Bruce Cassidy the team’s current coach who helped the Golden Knights win the Stanley Cup in

The 2022 23 season so it has to be Peter dor now dor isn’t a bad coach by any means and from 2020 through 2022 he had a record of 98 wins 50 losses and 12 OT losses with 39 playoff appearances posting a record of 22 and 17 since

Being Let Go by Vegas dor went on to coach the Dallas Stars and remains their head coach as we make this video the Washington Capitals Tom mcve in the Washington Capitals first season of existence they burned through three coaches that combined for eight total wins in the 1974 75 season this is one

Of the worst seasons in NHL history so we could have picked one of those three coaches being Jim Anderson red Sullivan or Milt Schmid however we’re not going to go that route in this video we’re going to be talking about the franchise’s fourth coach in history Tom

MCV as mentioned before mil Schmid took over the Capitals in their first year but was fired Midway through the next season after starting out 328 and five Tom MCV would be hired to replace Schmidt but he was only able to win eight more games that entire season

Finishing with an overall record of 11 59 and 10 in his next full two seasons as head coach MCV compiled a 41 91 and 28 overall record the Winnipeg Jets Kurt Frasier this one only dates back to when the Atlanta Thrashers first became a franchise in 1999 where Kurt Frasier was

The coach for three and a half Seasons he is the only coach in franchise history to never post a points percentage above 366 putting him at the top of the list as the worst coach ever in his first season with the team Frasier LED Atlanta to just 39 points

Missing the Playoffs by a remarkable 46o deficit well over double their season total he’s also the second longest tene coach in franchise history coaching 279 games so given that large sample size he is definitely the worst coach in franchise history thanks for watching our videos don’t forget to hit that like

  1. Any Blues fans just hit unsubscribe for you mentioning a Plager. đŸ€ŁđŸ€Ł Kidding of course, but I would say Mike Kitchen was worse.

  2. Mention ShowDown (insert year here), viewers see a picture from the Showcase segment of The Price is Right with Bob Barker closing the show.

  3. It's easy to look at Ebbie Goodfellow's poor wins and losses record while coaching the Blackhawks seventy years on, but the head coaching position was the least of the team's problems during that era. In my opinion the worst actual coach they've employed was Alpo Suhonen, who was employed by the team's worst general manager, Mike Smith. Suhonen stood, immobile, behind the bench during the 2000-01 season (one of his nicknames was "Benny Hill on xanax"), he had serious difficulties communicating, to put it mildly, hockey at times took a back seat to his theatre interests. He just should never been put in that position and the team (and his benefactor, Smith) removed him "for his health" before the end of his only season as NHL head coach.

  4. How do you get THIS MANY things wrong in one video? Maybe don’t lean on Wikipedia and HDB so much and do ACTUAL research because the lack of context and litany of mispronounced names is a joke and make you look like a clown

  5. Anaheim: Randy Carlyle during his second stint
    Arizona: Wayne Gretzky
    Boston: Don Cherry
    Buffalo: Ralph Krueger
    Calgary: Darryl Sutter (second stint)
    Carolina: Bill Peters
    Chicago: Jeremy Colliton
    Colorado: Patrick Roy
    Columbus: Mike Babcock
    Dallas: Glen Gulutzan
    Detroit: Jeff Blashill
    Edmonton: Dallas Eakins
    Florida: Bob Boughner
    LA: Terry Murray
    Minnesota: Bruce Boudreau
    Montreal: Mario Tremblay
    Nashville: John Hynes
    New Jersey: John Hynes
    NY Islanders: Mike Milbury
    NY Rangers: David Quinn
    Ottawa: D.J. Smith
    Philadelphia: Alain Vigneault
    Pittsburgh: Mike Johnston
    San Jose: David Quinn
St. Louis: Mike Kitchen (tarnished by the Mike Danton scandal)
    Tampa Bay: Guy Boucher
    Toronto: Ron Wilson
    Vancouver: Willie Desjardins
    Washington: Adam Oates
    Winnipeg: Bob Hartley

Speaking of Hynes, his tenure would not have ended poorly if the Preds remained healthy (Saros going down in 2022 was the main reason Nashville got swept by Colorado)

The same can be said with Peter DeBoer and the Golden Knights, where they could have won a Cup or two and made the playoffs in 2022 had they stayed healthy

  6. For the Devils, it has to be John MacLean. Fantastic player in NJ history, but he took a team that won back to back division titles to an awful start, only to turn the team over to Jacques Lemaire and they started winning again.

  7. Great players rarely make good coaches. Bill Russell, Ted Williams, Bart Starr, Isaiah Thomas, Magic Johnson to name a few were all phenomenal players but like Gretzky made for terrible coaches. That said, when it comes to terrible coaches for the Flyers, yeah Homer was bad but for some reason they made him GM and he still has a lot of control over the team which is why this team has stunk for the last 10 years.

  8. This list is crazy accurate! 👏 👏 only miss imo is Jeremy Colliton for Chicago. Dude took several HOFers and made them a bad team post Quenneville

  9. I was a bit surprised that the Avalanche wasn't Patrick Roy. Speaking of him, I would have kept him and fired the coach. It's hilarious how some minds work

  10. Gotta go with Mike Johnston for the Pens. He inherited a very good team and did absolutely nothing with it. Mike Sullivan then immediately proceeded to win back to back cups.

Tough to be a coach for a team in tank mode

  11. A good list, although I don’t care if a franchise was bought and called something else 20-30 years ago, Holmgren never coached the Hurricanes, Brooks never coached the Dallas Stars, Fraser never coached the resurged Winnipeg Jets and Chambers never coached the Avs.
