Should The New York Rangers Retire Chris Kreider’s Jersey? #newyorkrangers

Chris Kreider is making a strong case to be the next player on the New York Rangers to have his jersey retired and hanging in the MSG rafters.

In Friday’s 5-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks, he scored in the first period to earn his 500th career point, and then registered his 100th career power play goal later in the match. The longest tenured Blueshirt now holds third all-time on the franchise goal list with 281, surpassing Adam Graves.

Kreider has made the top 10 in numerous all-time rankings for the Rangers.

Power play goals – 100th (Tied 4th)
Shorthanded goals – 9 (Tied 10th)
Game-winning goals – 40 (Tied 5th)

While an argument can be made for and against having his #20 retired, should the Rangers capture a Stanley Cup during his tenure, it will be a no-brainer.
