I am onboard trading Savard, logjam at D, he is injured for 20 games a year… Monny tho… I don’t know. We have nothing like him in the system, we have the cap space… and he’s not old. If we’re out of it.. sure… but if we are scratching at a playoff spot… we need to seriously consider what is more important.

Maybe draft someone with offensive talent?

  4. 100%.

    Cash the fuck in.
The team gonna need those chips in 3 years.

Patience is the name of the game IMO. Reinbacher’s a year or so away, as is Hutson; Fowler is a ways away from the Show, but goaltenders take longer anyhow; Roy, Mešar and Beck could make the team next year but more likely they’ll get big minutes in Laval.

I’m curious to see what HuGo does with their stockpile of defensive prospects, though. Talk on the sub is they need a game-breaking forward (which is valid): does HuGo flip someone from the blueline to get said forward and if so, who gets dealt?

This defense either needs David Savard or someone like David Savard on it. None of our prospects are there yet.

I don’t believe we’d be sellers and sell Monahan if we’re in a playoff spot. it’s not a good message to send to the team.

Arpon must have been lurking in some of the comment threads on this sub lately. Anyone who thinks we shouldn’t trade guys like Monahan and Savard are delusional and need to recognize we aren’t there yet.

“Stick to the plan.” “Don’t improvise, anticipate.”

One more nothingburger from this rag.

OFC stick with the plan. What else? The plan may or may not include trading anyone. We are not privy to it. Most especially writers and rags like the above are not either. In fact they are more likely to be kept out of the loop.

  11. lol there is such a dissonance in this sub between threads like this and GDT there it players aren’t there yet they get cussed out.

  12. We don’t have anyone I would consider a franchise player I would package anyone at any time.

This sub contradicts its self a lot. Bringing up a trade like the Newhook one people will say the odds of hitting with a late first or a second are so small it’s better to get an established bottom 6 player with upside but then you bring up the trade deadline and people act like trading Monahan for a late first rounder is going to significantly help the rebuild…

We were blinded so often by squeaking into the playoffs especially in Covid years under Bergevin. It hurt pretty badly
