  1. Couldnt agree more. Kuemps was fire all last season but he's in as big a slump as Ovi. Bring up Shep. We need some fresh net minding. Sending strome to second line when he's our leading goal scorer is like "What?" The rebuild is starting out rough but hopefully they get through it and figure it out while Ovi still has a shor at the record. Watching him fizzle out potentially because he lost his best assistants in Kuznetsov (bad attitude lately) and Backstrom (sad emoji) and is trying to play at top tier level with a rebuilt team, almost none of his major assets, loss of his dad, gettinf doubled up on…well, watching this perfect storm against him is no fun.

  2. I like Kuemper because I remember him when I was following the Coyotes. He might have been the top goalie in the league at that time. However, if he's on the bench, he needs to be ready. There's no excuse for that. Especially for a veteran player.

  3. Why are people blaming Kuemper? The team isn't scoring goals. Not even a brick wall covering all but a foot of the net is winning with a team only scoring 1 goal!

  4. I for sure wouldn't resign Mantha. Another player putting up good numbers for the next contract sign.

I'm really disappointed with the Capitals not playing Hunter Sheppard more giving him a chance. At this point I wish he would have left and signed with another team that would have given him a chance/experience. Instead of being stuck in the AHL.

Whatever happen to Max Pacioretty? He's still on IR. Thought he was supposed to start the beginning of the season, here we are almost halfway through.

The Capitals need to sign some healthy players. Ethan Bear has yet to play a full NHL season. We have enough old or injury prone players.

Yet again Oshie is injured. We need to find a replacement. It does no team any good when players can only play a little over half the season.

We are now getting a glimps of the post OV era. We are seeing what it will look like to not have the core group (Oshie, Backstrum and OV).

  5. Alex Ovechkin … 19 years at this … "1%" playoff success … A 38 year old body … Another Stanley Cup is a fantasy … Has a wife and two children now … Brings the first line down but how does the headcoach utter these words to him "We're moving you to the third line" and expect him not to pout? His hockey abilities and shot "scares NO ONE!" The 60+ goals he's behind Gretzky is the only reason he drags himself to the rink every night. Wrapped around a Stanley Cup win versus an expansion team the seasons have been complete failures! … All of this is what's on his mind day after day!

  6. Agree Dan. Have to make changes. This team will not make playoffs if they can’t generate more offense. Bears are buzzing, give some guys chances.

  7. The Caps aren’t playing great but one thing we can all be happy with is Dan’s coverage of this team! Love hearing Worked-Up Dan lol keep it rolling!

  8. Alexyev should be in the line up, barring Bear being available. Demoting Strome didnt make much sense. Ovi is cold as the ice hes skating on. And Kuemper is not playong like a starting goalie, hes really not even playong up to snuff for a backup goalie.
But the bigger issue here …. The defense is not scoring. They are ranked last in the league for points generated by defensemen.
