Also, the Tampa Bay Lightning are struggling, especially after going against two cup contenders: the Florida Panthers and NY Rangers. This dip usually happens with the team in December, but their defense needs to improve or they won’t make it that far.

The Oilers play PHI Tuesday then the next 4 are all vs teams lower than them in standings. Currently sitting on a 5 game winning streak, its very reasonable for Edmonton to get to 10 in a row. Beyond that is the Leafs followed by 5 more vs the bottom third of the league.
Toronto is in a free fall. Edmonton can beat that team. The only scary team the Oilers face in January is Philly and they are 1-3-1 in there last 5.
Its not insane for Edmonton to go 11-0 in January.
As a Penguins fan myself I can say that they’re severely underwhelming this season if you look at what Sidney Crosby is doing at 36 years old and the great duo of goaltending they have they would be top of the metro oh wait here’s the problem….they don’t have a defense the second and third pairing defensemen do absolutely nothing on the ice plus the bottom six has done hardly nothing Rakell hardly nothing Rust has been hurt for a long time if they want to compete they have to have more depth scoring from the forwards and the second and third pairing D Men
Can you do a breakdown on the Rangers? Their entire team structure has drastically changed from last year and I would love for somebody to break it down!
The Central division is absolutely insane right now. Three teams battling for the top and none of them managing to hold that top spot for any meaningful length of time. Both of the West's wildcard holders currently are in the Central division as well, though Edmonton is pretty quickly gaining on that spot.
The best thing about being a Sens fan this year is their logo getting a lot of air time thanks to Hockey Psychology's review of who's at the bottom of the league every week 🥲
