  1. but honestly toews isn't lying I've gone to accouple of avs games this season and and they've looks very disjointed at times.

  2. Not a kraken fan, but as a goalie, I can say that some goalies offset a weaker net presence with rebound control that helps the breakout. Also teams play differently in front of different goalies

  3. Gotta love Martin Jones. When he's hot he's excellent and when he's not he's unusable. Most inconsistently great/terrible goalie I've seen.
In wins last year he had a .911 SV%
In losses he had an .842 & 4.2 GAA

  4. Rod Brind'Amour is absolutely a Hall of Very Good guy. But there's already a ton of those guys who've gotten in recently so he'll probably end up in anyway.

  5. Kariya catching strays. Steve, i don't feel you understand how good he was. 8 players scored 100pts in the dead puck era. Kariya is one of them and almost did it a 2nd time(99pts in 69 games). Before his injury problems he was considered a top 3 offensive player in the league for a couple years. 3 first team all star, 2 second team as well as a 2nd place finish for the hart – losing to peak Hasek. Rod had 1 third team all star as a winger and nothing else close. Their peaks were not close, Rod obviously has longevity though.

  6. Hey, I cover the Kraken here on YouTube, and go to all the home games as media (which I only mention to say that I've been around the team a fair amount) and I can confidently say… that I have no idea why the Kraken played better in front of Jones. It was baffling. I can't remember the exact numbers but Jones got near to if not over a goal per game in support from what Grubauer got. It was basically the opposite from what Seattle watched happen to Felix Hernadez for the Mariners. They'd score 2 or 3 goals in front of Grubauer for a few games then put up 8 when Jones got a start. The only reason I can possibly think of for it is that Jones (like Steve mentioned) is very calm in net, he doesn't move nearly as much as Grubauer so maybe they felt more confident as a result? Anyway that probably doesn't help you a ton but there you go.

Edit: Ok I got curious so I looked it up. Based off of who started the game (so not totally perfect, but close) Jones got 169 goals of support in 43 starts for an average of 3.93 goals of support per game while Grubauer got 108 in 35 starts for an average of 3.09 goals of support per game. Also since I mentioned 8 goal games, the Kraken had 5 of those last season, Jones started 4 of those 5 games.

  7. SUPER liberal podcast, of course u hate aaron rodger’s, u guys blow the government, u only hate him because he does drugs and denies the vaccine, unlike this podcast that pleads a vaccines save lives standpoint of of insecurity and stuborness

  8. “How does he win!” – Steve Dangle.
Answer: Because analytics give you a false reality of what “good” is. Use your eyes and watch film. Jones is just a reliable, avg, NHL goalie. Not flashy, not going to cheat you for effort, he just gets the job done and finds a way. The Leafs need more of that.

  9. Brind'amour is a way bigger lock than Leclair. Leclair has no individual trophies, no medals, only 800ish points…. sure 1 cup, but meh. Mogilny over Leclair all day.

  10. Concerning the Sharks bit… can Ducks nation steal you mid-flight? 😂 No really I wanna know if you're dropping by Anaheim. I'm first and foremost a Habs fan, despite the Habs-Leafs rivalry I would just LOVE to pay you guys a beer and talk hockey with you guys!! 😁

EDIT: AYO Jacques Martin head-coached Montreal for a while! In relief of Guy Carbonneau, another head-coach who never head-coached again in the NHL afterwards!

EDIT2: Concerning Rod Brind'ammour… I have but one question: How is his NHL career? Yeah this is ambiguous on purpose. I'm not specifying as a player or as a head coach. Answer this honestly. How's his NHL career? Huh? There you go. He should be in the HoF.
